HR Specialist - Employee Relations

The successful candidate who fills this role is responsible for Employee Relations, employee and manager consultation, coaching and advising to resolve talent related concerns, compliance issues and leading internal investigations across Europe.

In addition to consultation, the role may need to field routine inquiries during high-demand periods.

Essential Duties :

  • Deliver a high level of customer service to employees, and managers.
  • Coach employees through formal and informal performance management issues
  • Serve as an escalation point for HRBPs regarding performance management, employee relations issues, and investigations.
  • Lead internal investigations, in consultation with Legal and / or other internal partners as applicable.
  • Identify trends and themes with regard to ER issues and escalate these business issues to HRBPs as appropriate.
  • Utilize case management application to record interactions and manage follow up.
  • Partner with stakeholders (L&OE and / or legal) to conduct manager and / or employee training in response to ER issues or as a preventative measure.
  • Experience and Skills Required :

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in a wide variety of human resources functions, including employment law, performance management and employee relations.
  • Previous employee relations and compliance experience across Europe with working knowledge of employment laws and regulations in various European countries.
  • Working knowledge of European Work Councils.
  • Experience with Dutch Labor Law and reintegration obligations.
  • Strong facilitation, presentation, and communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Proven ability to build relationships with, as well as advise and influence across all levels.
  • Strong conflict resolution skills.
  • Proven project management, organizational, diagnostic and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Must thrive in a fast paced, complex, dynamic, multi-cultural environment where multi-tasking and prioritizing are required.
  • Familiar with US companies and US based Corporate Headquarters.
  • Demonstrated integrity while working with a wide range of sensitive and confidential issues.
  • Strong PC skills including MS Office. PeopleSoft experience is an advantage.
  • Ability to accommodate occasional business travel.
  • Fluent English / Dutch is required, additional European languages (German and French) a significant plus.
