About the role

The Tax Analyst is responsible for managing corporate income tax reporting and other local taxes, ensuring timely and accurate compliance for direct tax in each country and all entities in the assigned geography.

This includes the preparation, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of the following tasks, ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and targets :

1.Manage the tax reporting, including (income-based) local taxes.

2.Follow the tax developments in the assigned countries.

3.Implementation of best practices.

4.Continuous improvement of the tax compliance workflows.

5.Supporting the assigned countries’ tax operations.

6.Reporting on status of compliance.

7.Supporting tax investigations and controversy resolution.

8.Supporting group tax reporting process.

9.Informing Global Tax Team on business operational and external (tax) changes within the geography.

10.Supporting the administration of the transfer pricing process.

Key accountabilities and responsibilities

Reporting to the EMEA CIT Tax Supervisor your main responsibilities will be :

  • Manage the assigned countries’ corporate income tax and (income-based) local tax compliance processes, including coordination of the preparation of the corporate tax returns and managing corporate tax payments with the in-
  • house shared service center.

  • Understand the assigned countries’ tax and tax ruling requirements, maintain compliance with regulations and ensure the tax returns are accurate and complete.
  • Supporting and streamlining the group's tax reporting process, annual and year-end tax provisioning and budgeting, ETR management and other items impacting tax accounting for the hub countries.
  • US GAAP tax provision preparation and preparation of the return-to-provision true-up when the corporate tax return is submitted.
  • Preparation of the tax worksheets and coordination with the tax reporting team.
  • Implement improved, streamlined and standardized processes to efficiently capture tax data required for the corporate tax returns.
  • Liaise with tax authorities in case of audit and resolve any queries or issues arising in relation to corporate income tax returns.
  • Monitor tax risk and prepare documentation to support tax positions and tax provisions.
  • Monitor non-tax deductible expense and where possible implement procedures to reduce non-tax deductible expense.
  • Support application of group transfer pricing policies, including documentation requirements and calculations.
  • Ensure maintenance of records and documentation for SOX, internal controls and (tax) audits. Perform required internal controls and take ownership of controls as needed.
  • Actively work with the global tax team to support alignment between the business and the Bacardi trading structure.
  • Build a sense of community across the tax operation team. Participate in citizenship activities and company activities and drive team spirit.
  • Liaise with other Tax Analysts in the Centers of Excellence to ensure all tax submissions accurately reflect all business transactions.
  • Liaise with tax reporting, transfer pricing and other tax colleagues.
  • Act as point of contact for and provide support on any tax related questions from colleagues and stakeholders (e.g. Finance Directors, tax authorities etc.).
  • Measures of success

  • Tax compliance with regulations ensuring integrity and accuracy of the corporate income tax returns for the assigned countries.
  • Improvement in efficiency and effectiveness of the tax workstreams while maintaining excellent results on internal and external controls.
  • Ensure new tax regulations affecting (or potentially affecting) the business and reporting are communicated to the relevant people.
  • Audits are dealt with effectively and efficiently.
  • Good connections with local and global Finance, Tax and Business colleagues.
  • Shared Service Centers’ and Outsource Providers’ services are in line with the contracts and its KPI’s are met.
  • Critical experiences for success

    To be successful in this role you will have / be :

  • 5 years of tax and / or accounting experience in multiple jurisdictions
  • Strong accounting and / or tax technical skills
  • Ability to work independently and proactively
  • Ability to liaise with the shared service center
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Strong communication skills that establishes, fosters and maintains working relationships with peers, management and shared service centers
  • Managed audits (internal and external)
  • Unimpeachable integrity
