Global Nutrition & Formulation is part of Global Operation & Supply Chain. The Global Applied Nutritionist Swine reports to the Global Manager Formulation & Nutrition.
Initiate and steer the transfer process of nutritional technology and knowledge to the operating companies. Support the operating companies to solve the more complex customer issues as well as implement new nutritional solutions.
Contribute to the commercialisation of the nutritional solutions portfolio (products, models and services).Tasks and responsibilities :
To provide functional leadership to the species specialists in the business to ensure up to date and optimal alignment between our formulation services and the needs of the local businesses.
Chair the species-specific nutritional development teams of senior nutritionists in the Nutreco organisation. Ensure the right balance between scientific scrutiny, practical sense and business opportunities.
Responsible for the development as well as the implementation of nutritional knowledge in the Nutreco organization.
Act as project leader for specific nutritional projects, or being project owner for smaller projects.
Participation in the development of products, models and services by R&D and Global Marketing species teams, as well as the NutriOpt team.
NutriOpt is the software-based modular precision feeding system of Trouw Nutrition, which includes analytical services (e.
g. NIR), a nutritional database with innovative nutritional concepts and economic performance models.
Support and guidance of the fundamental nutritionist in the Global Formulation Team concerning species-specific issues.
Act as contact person for external parties with regard to species specific nutritional topics (e.g. CVB committees, suppliers, key accounts).
A Masters degree in Animal Science or a related discipline; a PhD is a pré.
A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the (animal feed) industry.
Profound knowledge of practical animal nutrition (feed evaluation, feed formulation, feed production, feeding systems, impact of feed on animal performance and animal models).
Good understanding of nutrition and animal physiology.
Interest for, and network in, feed production.
In depth understanding of the swine industry; business and commercial skills is clearly a differentiation.
Understanding of feed business and the needs of feed compounders as well as farmers in order to translate into nutritional solutions.
Intercultural management skills, adaptability to work across functions and in different markets.
