Job Description

If you’ve proven you can manage people and projects, this high-profile role managing our CyberDefence logging could give you the responsibility and recognition you’ve been looking for.

What’s the role?

This is a dual role. As well as planning, controlling and executing projects to meet identified business needs and deliver business value, you’ll be responsible for incorporating enterprise demand for CyberDefence logging and monitoring.

Specifically, this includes taking on board new projects with business customers, embedding their cyber defence requirements and making sure run and maintain cost are in line with budgets and plans.

It’s up to you to prioritise new demand with the product owner through our Demand Advisory Council; you’ll run monthly Demand Advisory Council meetings and chair a Service Management Board to share the platform roadmap.

An advocate for your team, removing barriers and managing pressure, you’ll need to quickly win the trust of sponsors and key stakeholders.

Good communication is key that means tailoring messages to your audience to make sure they’re readily understood, resolving conflict and delivering tough messages with grace.

What we need from you

Our ideal candidate has a degree (or equivalent) in IT coupled with plenty of experience in IT and project management. You’ll call on Agile project experience and professional PM certifications PMP (preferably) or Prince 2 plus exposure to relevant IT domains such as business intelligence, reporting, analytics, systems development and / or systems integration.

You’ve shown you can adhere to project management methodologies and tools and lead a geographically dispersed team typically you’ll be working with teams of around 10-

20 people, including supporting a DevOps team and managing service providers.

Life moves fast at Shell, so you’ll need to be a quick thinker someone who can learn fast and digest information to make sound decisions, even in ambiguous or unfamiliar situations.

Of course, your people skills will make a significant difference. We really value men and women with accomplished communication and presentation skills people who can cultivate fruitful working relationships and skilfully manage stakeholders, coaching and influencing to move projects forward.

If you also have some of the following on your CV, we’d really like to hear from you :

  • Experience with machine learning, AI, Splunk
  • Ability to describe CyberDefence processes in general; a basic understanding of threat management, vulnerability management, incident management.
  • Some understanding of how to apply CyberDefence concepts to go-forward environments such as public cloud - AWS, Azure, IoT, Mobile, etc.
  • Experience in managing the implementation or development of Security information and Event Management (SIEM) solutions (e.g. Splunk).
