In this role, you have the opportunity to ensure that our mission critical systems for diagnosing cancer are operations proof & you save the day when we need to get it back in business!

Our challenge is to

Philips Digital Pathology Solutions (PDPS) is establishing a worldwide business for total digital pathology solutions encompassing an Ultra Fast scanner for microscope tissue slides, a pathology Image Management System and several disease specific (mostly for cancer types) computer assisted detection (CAD) solutions.

We aim at leveraging multiple Philips assets and capabilities (brand, market channel, technology) for establishing the total solution and being the 1st to market to establish a dominant market position.

The market launch of the first solutions was in 2011. The venture is now expanding in in US, Europa and Asia.

Our mission : In a world with increasing challenges for cancer diagnostic procedures and quality of patient care we want to be number one in empowering pathologists with digital pathology solutions so their expertise is supported by the best scanners, Image Management System, workflow and CAD / CDS solutions available.

This helps pathologist’s worldwide work more effectively, leading to higher quality diagnosis and as a result better patient care.

Creating these groundbreaking solutions is one thing, but getting and keeping them in business in the optimal way is the real challenge!

You are responsible for

  • the technical product support and deployment of the Philips Digital Pathology Solutions (PDPS) installations;
  • Working on improvements in product quality and serviceability;
  • Defining service requirements for new products that are developed. Participating in development projects securing service-
  • ability of the new to develop products. Advice how features should look like, how we do logging etcetera;
  • Ensure optimal and a complete handover from development to operation, by co-creation of training, manuals or by workshops and other knowledge sharing activities;
  • First of a kind support for newly introduced products at customer sites;
  • Third line support for service engineers working on customer issues;
  • He / she is able to advice in presales activities the sales team with advanced technical knowledge
  • Understand the workflows in which our products are used.

    To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Bachelor degree in ICT Engineering or Computer Science or similar level based on experience;
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar position in IT support external customer facing in a heavily regulated environment;
  • Bonus points for experience in software development;
  • Good understanding of Communication standards in Healthcare IT, (HL7, DICOM, EDIFACT, IHE);
  • Familiar with Web technologies & cloud solutions (HTML5, object store, XML, Java, AWS, SAAS);
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in the English language and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to quickly analyze a situation, collaborate with your team to drive a project & get the job done;
  • Willing to travel (
