FM aims to be a significant player in our market leader and challenger markets, with an additional presence in all the major international markets and specialist expertise in selected emerging markets and products.

Your role

The Distribution Sales team is ING’s face to the market for all transactions where loans and loan based products are distributed to the wider investor community.

Types of transactions include primary loan syndications, secondary loan sales, the establishment of partnerships with investors and securitizations that support our sectors and lending origination efforts.

As a team we are responsible for a unified and integrated investor coverage at up to CIO level, managing the relationship and loan sales transaction towards investors.

Success is defined both by the number of well executed transaction we do and by the quality of market insight we can share with our stakeholders.

The Distribution Sales team is located across 5 global hubs (Amsterdam, Brussels, London, New York & Singapore). We work closely with our Capital Velocity partners (LCM, GBSD, CPG and Sectors) taking ownership of the sales strategy and execution of these transactions as well as providing them valuable market insight during the structuring and distribution process.

We are also continuously aligned with our coverage partners (FM Institutions Sales team and Financial Institutions Sector coverage) to ensure the investor community receives a consistent ING experience.

We report to the Global Head of Institutional Sales and Distribution.

Your key responsibilities

On a daily basis we manage relationships and transactions with investors and we provide market intelligence by mapping investor appetite to Capital Velocity partners and Sectors & Lending teams.

The Associate Loan Sales Professional will support the team to reach the common goals.

For syndicated loans, secondary loan sales & structured partnerships :

Become knowledgeable of and be responsible for sale of full suite of loan-based products across the bank and NBFI investor base.

Guarantee a smooth process from pre-mandate to closing. Produce required liquidity analysis, ensure timely and accurate communication to potential investors, bring together pockets of feedback to develop a market view, ensure investor information needs are met and actively monitor the progress of the syndication process.

For providing market insight to internal stakeholders :

Ensure product, portfolio and relevant market intelligence is structured and available to manage investor relationships, engage in dialogue with investors (banks & NBFI’s) across different loan-based products and distribution formats, deliver market soundings, institutionalizing individual and market knowledge for specific loan types, sectors, asset classes and structures.

Ultimately you contribute to steer ING origination activity by internally sharing distribution potential.

  • Bbachelor’s or master’s degree.
  • Fluent in English and speak at least one other language.
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience working with loan products in a wholesale banking setting.
  • You are organized and structured paying particular attention to data quality.
  • You are analytical, think out of the box and are committed to be part of the solution.
  • You communicate clearly be it verbally, through PowerPoint or Excel.
  • You are commercially driven when building relationships and relationship driven when doing transactions.
  • You work well in a flat organization where team work is central, putting team interest before personal ones.
  • You think on your feet, you roll up your sleeves and get it done.
