About the role

We are currently looking for an ambitious and enthusiastic Senior Network Engineer to join our IT team based in Amsterdam.

In this role you’ll be responsible for the design, development, delivery and operational support of our wide and local area networks.

In addition, you’ll also use your technical skills and experience to drive consolidation and standardization where appropriate, while meeting the business needs of our local operating companies.

Main responsibilities

In this role you'll :

Have operational responsibility in terms of changes, incidents and requests for network services including LAN, WAN, and network security

Have oversight, input, and collaboration of operational work by IT networking suppliers

Support and input on IT projects, from a networking perspective

Design and operational support of all aspects of networking, including Azure, Express Route, SD-WAN, firewall configuration and troubleshooting, and wifi.

Drive operational improvements with new technologies, functions or processes.

This position requires to be part of a standby rotation team covering Network Services (up to 13 weekly duties per year maximum).

Stakeholders include : I&O Director; I&O Tower Leads; Cross-functional IT teams; Senior leadership (various) as required to support projects and initiatives.

Travel expectations : Infrequent travel (10%) is expected in this role

Experience & qualifications

To be successful in this role you'll need :

Degree level or other relevant education

Demonstrable technical knowledge in the field of network engineering, including routing, firewall implementation and network design (s pecific technical knowledge in Azure deployments in terms of networking and networking security, UDRs, Peering, etc)

Experience in deploying and maintaining Palo Alto firewalls (physical and virtual)

Significant experience in service support organization working on networking and network security, CCNP / CCIE certification (preferred)

Proven experience of working in a federated matrix model.

To be an effective communicator with developed influencing skills

Proven supplier management skills

An excellent working knowledge of ITIL

Language : English (fluent) Desirable : Second European language (preferred)
