The Manager SEO is responsible for developing and facilitating strategic plans and measures to drive SEO traffic and sales, as well as improving the organic search experience on and off-site across our European sites.
This role focusses on our SEO performance, as well as on research and analysis of new SEO trends, competitors and markets to find ways to improve visibility, ranking, relevancy for our customers and resulting in conversion through an optimized search experience.
Key responsibility of this position will be the optimization of relevant SEO KPI’s through measurement, analysis and creation of actionable insights and recommendations on search behavior.
This role will be working closely with digital merchandising, marketing and content teams to bring recommendations to live and help build consistent content strategy to raise SEO traffic share in the traffic mix.
The Manager SEO will be the key contributor for all organic search related functionality on- and offsite.
To improve the sustainability of SEO in the mix, this position will require collaboration and leadership skills as the role will build, manage, train and coach a SEO team that acts as a liaison between business and development teams across the globe.
Furthermore the Manager SEO will own and manage the relations with our SEO Agency.
This person will act as an advocate for Search Experience and supervise, train and coach other stakeholders on SEO techniques, best-practices and processes to maximize our customers’ Search Experience.
Creation and execution of a comprehensive SEO strategy for all Foot Locker brand sites including on-site measures based on insights from research.
Building a site wide content strategy for SEO, aligning with merchandising and marketing teams.
Keywords analysis, strategy and optimization
Optimization of on- and offsite measures to increase SEO KPI’s.
Product owner for technical site optimizations.
Link building strategy and implementation
Ensure the dashboard with key KPI’s for SEO is updated to track performance and report on wider business.
Align regularly with SEA team on keyword research and analysis to ensure a profitable and sustainable marketing mix.
Manage external agencies and vendors, monitor and control SEO budget lines.
Facilitate and supervise SEO improvements, content initiatives and brief internal and external analysts, product owners, developers, copywriters, designers and vendors / agencies in clear and efficient ways considering the timelines in the development roadmap.
Prepare training material and documentation, hold presentations, and run internal meetings and workshops about SEO processes and best practices.
Bachelor’s degree in Business or Marketing or relevant degree or experience with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience with SEO.
Deep knowledge of SEO relevant tools like SEMrush, Searchmetrics, digital analytics tools like Adobe Analytics or Google Analytics as well as deep SEO related knowledge of the technical processes in front- and backend of our platforms.
Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of end users and technical resources.
A pro-active and self-motivated approach which includes curiosity and an appetite to improve Search Experience, traffic and sales.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Fluent in English (verbal & written).
Strong technical understanding to build SEO optimizations.
Able to work as part of a small team and coordinate activities with other departments.
First leadership experience to lead a small team.
Basic understanding on how different components within a web system work & interact.
Proven experience in using data to identify issues and create clear actions to improve SEO performance and KPIs.
Strong understanding of digital and performance marketing, especially in the field of SEM.
Experience in B2C eCommerce retail environment is a plus.
Affinity, enthusiasm and interest in sports (especially running and fitness) & fashion is a plus.
