We are looking for a people-centric leader, with strong technical expertise, to co-drive our product roadmap for better, more data-driven pricing at IKEA.

As a person, you are passionate about leading business, and building and developing a strong team of analysts, engineers, scientists, and stewards.

You have extensive experience working as a people manager and / or technical lead within the Data & Analytics space and consider yourself a change driver by heart.

You are an expert when it comes to :

  • modern methods from applied mathematics and machine learning for extracting insights and making decisions based on data
  • relevant programming languages (such as Python), as well as industry usage of modern cloud platforms for data processing and analysis
  • driving change in a complex business environment, where managing and influencing senior stakeholders comes natural to you, as well as leading cross-functional teams to attain strong commercial results by successfully balancing and prioritizing between short- and long-term results
  • Your past experiences include :

  • formal qualifications (BSc, MSc, PhD) in computer science, econometrics, engineering, mathematics, or equivalent
  • several years of diverse professional experience in working with data and analytics, including hands-on development and deployment of data processing and advanced analytics software
  • demonstrable experience working in Agile or DevOps communities of engineering practice, in which solutions evolve through the effort of self-organising cross-functional teams
  • And we’ll jump up and down if you even have :

  • experience working with demand forecasting and / or pricing initiatives in a retail setting (optional)
  • Our values underpin and guide us in our everyday work life. For you to thrive and grow with IKEA, it is important for us that you share and lead with our values at heart.

As a Data & Analytics Leader, you will lead a team of contributors, with direct responsibility for driving business value, as well as managing people processes, incl.

ensuring the health and well-being of your team.

As part of a cross-functional leadership constellation, you will work collaboratively with Product, Technology, and UX Design leaders to inspire and empower product teams and ensure that we attain our desired business objectives (OKRs).

In addition, you will work closely with key data and technology enablement units, incl. Data Architecture, to secure coherent, effective product development across the organisation.

Examples of how our teams are engineering the future pricing paradigm in IKEA include :

1)securing that we move from on-premise to cloud-native core services, in order to provide markets with stable operational systems, and make it easier for product teams to scale and manage global rollouts,

2)realising an ongoing endeavour into data-driven pricing of new products (i.e. the famous IKEA range), by relying on historical sales data combined with product similarity scores based on various feature spaces (including textual and / or visual embeddings),

3)improving automation and algorithmic machine learning strategies that control how we discount products with an upcoming sales expiration date, in order to minimise overstocking and maximise revenue,

and you are expected to play a central role in continuing to improve and support our ongoing initiatives, as well as defining and shaping the future product roadmap for pricing in general.

In the words of our founder, Ingvar Kamprad, Most things still remain to be done!
