Job Purpose and Summary
The Domain Architect IAM and EUC takes ownership of the entire Identity and Access Management and End user Computing domain of Canon Europe with its 18.
000 end-users and leads the definition of the architecture of this domain. The Domain Architect IAM and EUC will participate in the definition and realization of the Canon Europe IAM and EUC vision, and be responsible for defining the domain architecture and future roadmaps, and to initiate and support the delivery projects implementing the identified technologies.
The current key components of the domain are : Microsoft O365; Fixed phone capability using Skype Enterprise Voice; Virtual Meetings;
Windows based workstation service managed by SCCM; Identity and Access management supported by Active Directory, Ping, and Courion.
The future direction for IAM and EUC continues to evolve to reflect the changing digital workplace expectations and needs of our end users and to support business strategies particularly in the area of collaboration with external partners.

Actively support and consult all projects within the IAM and EUC domain :
Lead the project architecture definition in case the assigned domain is leading, or participate in the project architecture definition in case the domain is supporting
Effort estimations and business case creation
Direct, review and approve high-level designs produced by the delivery teams
Promote use of pre-existing architectural building blocks
Get sign-off for Architectural Definition from Architecture Board
Lead or support creation of project architecture direction in the vision statement of new initiatives :
Lead creation of "architecture direction" in case domain is leading
Contribute to creation of vision statement in case domain is supporting
Stakeholder communication :
Work closely with business and IT stakeholders (e.g. Corporate communications, application delivery teams, IT operations and IT security) and develop an intimate understanding of the Canon Europe business and how identity and access management and end-
user computing can add value to the business
Ensure business and IT stakeholder sign-off as-is and target infrastructure domain architecture
Identify opportunities to improve the end-user experience for the Canon Europe employees
Own, define and maintain as-is and target infrastructure domain architecture (for a 5 year horizon) aligned to business and IT strategies and priorities :
Ensure domain architecture consistency across the various initiatives / projects supported by the domain
Ensure alignment to enterprise architecture and guidelines
Define architectural blue prints for new infrastructure domain requirements
Look for new technologies and market trends to improve the target infrastructure architecture
Get sign-off for target domain architecture from Architecture Board
Own, define and maintain a roadmap to achieve the target state for the domain. Work with business and IT stakeholders to define and align a portfolio of projects including business case to deliver the roadmap.
Sponsor new projects with significant architectural impact through approval in the Architecture Board.
Review as-is domain architecture and identify and action areas for improvement :
Drive simplification and cost reduction
Drive development and adoption of enterprise components

Business skills :
Commercial awareness of key business drivers within domain
Ability to articulate the value of IT projects e.g. quantifying benefits and TCO calculations
Understanding of key business processes relevant for domain
Sound business knowledge in domain
Technology skills :
A university degree with above-average academic performance in information technology, or a related technical field
About 8 years of experience within IT with 4 years in infrastructure architecture
Professional experience with all aspects of an IT project from design through development, testing, implementation, and production
Deep understanding of the Identity and Access Management and End User Computing domain specific solutions, technologies and systems such as Microsoft Office365 (Skype for Business, SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange), Windows 10, Enterprise Mobility Suite, SCCM, Active Directory, Windows Server, Ping, MSSQL server, mobile devices (iOS and Android).
Good understanding of Skype Enterprise Voice
Good understanding of the security aspects for IAM and EUC
Broad understanding of neighboring domains (networking and server / storage) and the overall technical landscape
Awareness of relevant technologies in the wider industry, and their strengths and weaknesses
Able to engage with delivery and ops personnel on complex technical issues
Communication skills :
Strong written and spoken communication and presentation skills in English
Ability to persuade and influence key stakeholders
Gravitas to be taken seriously by Business and Technology stakeholders
Ability to explain complex technical issues to non IT-experts
