ServiceNow Platform at Booking

We are looking for a talented SaaS Engineering Manager to join our ServiceNow Platform Team in our Amsterdam HQ, Bucharest or Manchester CoEs.

ServiceNow is the foundation for digital workflows, connecting people, functions, and systems across our organization. The ServiceNow Platform Team builds and implements digital workflow applications and scales across the enterprise with a low-code SaaS platform.

As a ServiceNow CMDB Specialist in the ServiceNow Platform Team, you will act as a CMDB champion, who owns CMDB data quality management process and overall ServiceNow Common Service Data Model (CSDM) and make sure that the Booking organization is speaking the same language when talking about CMDB data and its quality.

You will serve as a compliance and IT configuration subject matter expert and trusted advisor; partner with both Business and IT to evaluate the design, effectiveness and quality of the CMDB data including the data lifecycle processes.

You are also responsible for overall Quality assurance on programs, establishing metrics around the quality of the CMDB programs.

Continuously identify and drive data and process improvements throughout the Booking organization to boost CMDB data quality and reliability, to reduce costs and to minimize risks into the day-to-day operations and to ensure business processes can rely on the underlying data.

You will primarily be responsible for managing, maintaining and assuring quality to the CMDB in ServiceNow platform.

  • Maintains the integrity and accuracy of the CMBD through regular audits and reconciliation reporting.
  • Prepares and executes data loads and evaluates data to maintain data and system integrity.
  • Collaborates with businesses to migrate to the ServiceNow platform CMDB from their existing tool / application
  • Assists process owners in understanding tool capabilities and benefits of CMDB and CSDM.
  • Assists in the documentation of configuration management CMDB policies and procedures.
  • Take lead role during vendor Audits and internal compliance related to CMDB
  • Develops training documentation for CMDB.
  • Ensure all necessary services are available and that workloads are run in line with required service levels, and delegate tasks to members of the team.
  • Reviews infrastructure-related incidents, with teams and ensures the execution of preventative actions.

  • Help to establish and provide KPI / Metric information and standardized reporting on a scheduled basis together with unscheduled reporting demanded by management
  • Accountable for delivery of goals and objectives assigned to the CMDB application
  • Perform CMDB data audits and identify improvement opportunities for data and processes via automation
  • Ensure new CMDB requirements are delivered in accordance with published standards and industry good practice
  • B.Skilled

  • 5 years of experience with Configuration Management (CMDB) in ServiceNow in a large IT organization, including defining processes and governance around CMDB required;
  • Experience in creating, updating and maintaining CMDBs, Asset Management Databases and other asset / configuration management repositories in a complex IT environment;
  • Experience in identifying and tracking CIs, implementing change control and accounting for discovered / manual CIs in a complex IT system.
  • Minimum of 3+year experience with ServiceNow Discovery and a good understanding of plugins (and integrations)

  • You have sufficient knowledge to advise product teams towards CSDM that meets the functional, nonfunctional & architectural requirements by challenging the rationale for an application design and providing context in the wider architectural landscape
  • You have programming skills and experience with server-side programming languages, preferably Java and JavaScript;
  • You have sufficient experience with design, development, testing, and monitoring of large-scale and data-intensive systems;
  • You need to have experience designing, implementing and testing integrations between ServiceNow and different thirty-party systems using REST, WebServices, etc, while applying ServiceNow best practices;
  • Having experience in ServiceNow CSDM, CMDB and Scripting certifications are a plus;
  • Experience with Kubernetes, AWS discovery,G CP, Kafka, MySQL, ElasticSearch, Graphite, Grafana, CI / CD tooling is a plus
  • Must have valid / up to date ServiceNow SysAdmin certification (CSA)
