ING is looking for a Head of Transformation Office NL

An experienced, visionary, people-oriented manager with a passion for customer-oriented to lead the Transformation Office NL.

The role of the local transformation office will be to :

  • Support the definition of the transformation agenda, in alignment with the strategy of İNG in the Netherlands and the global transformation priorities
  • Manage and assure quality of the implementation of the transformational initiatives
  • Run the Quarterly planning process
  • Accelerate delivery of customer value, developing high performing teams & organisation and develop the Agile mindset & behaviours in the local organisation
  • Provide input to the global transformation agenda, and continuously improve transformation practices in conjunction with the other transformation offices
  • For global and local programs, large and small, delivery accountability is with the business owner. The transformation team is responsible for supporting the business for delivery planning, productivity and predictability (processes, governance and tools to bridge the gap between strategy and execution).

    The scope of the transformation programs is ING Domestic Bank NL (DBNL). This part of the bank is continuously finding ways to improve and transform itself, which leads to challenging transformation in different domains such as COO, Retail and Business Banking.

    We expect you to

    Shape, detail and propagate vision and policy and achieve sustainable results in order to realise ING's strategy, by managing the Transformation office NL and developing staff within the frameworks specified and taking into account the customer, the environment and society.

  • Strategy : formulate a vision and strategy, develop policy for the Transformation office NL and translate this into objectives for the Centers of Expertise (CoEs), whilst weighing the interests of all stakeholders and focusing on the customer's best interests.
  • Value creation : ensure the full change cycle is on track and act accordingly. Ensure all change has a transparent business case, that there is quality data on the portfolio, and remain focused on the value creation, even in times of endurance.
  • Suggest and run interventions to continuously lift standards in how transformation is done.

  • Continuously challenge and rethink the role of Transformation Office NL within ING DBNL to ensure increased added value to the organization
  • Align, challenge and inspire stakeholders across ING (financials, delivery metrics, data insights)
  • You will oversee consistency in approach, way of work and tools in alignment with the Global Transformation office. The Head of TO NL will have a functional line with the Head of Global Transformation Office to ensure effective collaboration, with a focus on contributing on strategy and the translation of strategy into impact for the expertise’s that are organised in TO NL.
  • People management : The Head of TO NL is hierarchically responsible for 4 4 areas of expertise being Portfolio Management, Change Execution, Process Management and Agile Coaching which are being led by Expertise Leads.
  • In total you are responsible for a team of approximately 130 FTE.

    Your work environment

    You are part of the LT COO NL, you will report into the COO NL, and functionally to the global transformation office of ING.

    You help others to be successful by partnering with stakeholders to anticipate delivery priorities and assign and mentor professionals with strong analytical and implementation capabilities to meet delivery objectives.

    You are front runner with best-in-class expertise and methodologies.

    You have a long-term perspective and continuously develop craftsmanship (through training, coaching, standards etc.). You proactively anticipate dependencies and collaboration across the entire organisation with the parties that need to contribute to a specific implementation, without relying on hierarchical structure or formal committees to do so.

    Required skills and experience

  • Master’s degree
  • At minimum 10 years of professional experience in change
  • At minimum 5 years of experience at senior management level
  • Experience and affinity in overseeing large change portfolios (>
  • 100m) and leading, among others, (sr) consultants, change execution professionals and agile coaches

  • Ability to understand strategic challenges and to have impact at executive level.
  • Sound experience in building strategic roadmaps
  • Expertise in driving and steering multidisciplinary teams
  • Proven experience in strategic projects with high impact
  • Excellent level of English
