Automation Manager for Vegetable Seeds Research and Development
Bayer Crop Science R&D team inBergschenhoek is looking for an AutomationManager .
The successful candidate will driveautomation and efficiency in the day to day operations within the VegetableSeeds R&D team using innovative approaches.

The candidate should also scout for new horticulturaltechnologies available in the market with a focus on automation andsustainability
Thecandidate should demonstrate effective analytical skills, drives change andtogether with the R&D team maximize the output of the R&D programs todeliver innovative, integrated solutions to delight our customers which enablesthem to sustainably supply the world with delicious fruits and vegetables.
Driveautomation and efficiency in day to day R&D operational processes andactivities; aligned with the global R&D objectives.
Providethe support in equipment maintenance and automation of process in the greenhouse and post-harvest processes
Partnerwith stakeholders, to visualize optimization areas, set the right prioritiesand start up projects; generating labor-
resources-, costs- and wastereduction.
Responsiblefor statistical analyses of results and subsequent decision making, includingoral and written communications.
Visualizethe impact on operational spend (OPEX) and give input for long rangeinvestments (CAPEX).
UseLEAN and SIX SIGMA practices to maximize the research outcome.
Activelysearch for the latest innovations available in agriculture and connect withleading companies who can deliver the newest high-
tech tools to optimize ourpractices.
Participateas member of the local management team and use problem solving skills tosupport the organization
Beambassador of the HSE and QMS practices and ensure the new developments aremeeting the necessary requirements.
Proficientin using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Highlydedicated and proactive
Experience and qualifications
MScin plant sciences, engineering, process management or a technical master’sdegree.
Knowledgeof crop production and farming practices in vegetable agronomy.
SixSigma / Lean Certification
Agronomicbackground or knowledge.
Experiencewith statistical tools.
