What will your role as Breeding Manager at Rijk Zwaan entail?

Within this role, you share responsibility with a fellow Breeding Manager for the process-based management of the breeding programmes (namely spinach, beetroot, chard, rocket, leek, endive, chicory and radicchio) and the long-term vision and strategy of the department.

This requires you to keep up to date with technical developments and to take care of implementing the latest innovations.

You maintain contact with various other departments within Rijk Zwaan, such as the commercial teams, research departments, seed production and crop maintenance.

You head up the team together with your fellow Breeding Manager, so it is important that you enjoy coaching people and helping them to stay motivated.

Your contribution

You are creative and innovative and have very strong communication skills. You have a natural talent for leadership and are an inspiring coach who is in tune with what’s going on in the department.

You have insight into the dynamics of the organisation and of the market. You have a strong vision and are good at making strategic choices.

You are willing to go on regular business trips (approx. 6 weeks per year).
