The mission of the Network Infrastructure (NI) Business Group is to be the most trusted partner for the world’s most critical network infrastructure.
NI will respond to the ever-increasing demand for networks with higher capacity, greater reliability, faster speeds, and lower costs.
Within NI, the IP Networks Division develops, markets and supplies routing solutions to meet the demand of a fully converged networking landscape evolving towards unicast video, cloud-based services and massive traffic growth.
The IP Regional Business Center (RBC) is the representative of the NI IP Networks Division within the region. The EMEA IP Regional PLM and Consulting Engineering team is part of the RBC and is supporting both the Europe and Middle East / Africa regions.
The IP Consulting Engineer provides senior level pre-sales and solution consulting support for the IP business in the EMEA region.
The focus for this role to support engagements on the recently launched SR Linux Data-Center portfolio and associated solutions.
Primary tasks and responsibilities include :
Provide consulting support to the IP pre-sales community and direct support key customers projects
Understand use-cases / designs, competitive landscape and articulate Nokia IP value-add / differentiators
Help define and evangelize the Nokia IP datacenter / SDN / NFVi strategy both internal and to key customers
Be a trusted advisor to both the customer and peers within Nokia
Evangelist at internal / external conferences and events
Provide / collect competitive updates / information in the region
Write white-paper / solution descriptions and build solution presentations
Demonstrate product capabilities, proto-type integrations and automations
Manages new product introduction in the region
Deep understanding of the telecommunication market, both from an operator as from a competitive vendor perspective
Minimum of seven years of experience in telecommunications / networking industry, preferably in an IP specific pre-sales environment
Proven experience in designing complex, operationally critical data center networks
Analytical problem solver
Ability to work effectively across cultures, languages, time-zones, in a remote management set-up (distributed organization)
Excellent written and oral communication / presentation skills in English
Ability and demonstrable experience in presenting to network operations / architecture / strategy teams
Up-to 50% travel should be expected as this is an EMEA customer facing role
Requests for support (material) may be required in short timescales enforced by the customer so time management skills are vital
Experience with NFVi infrastructure (E.g. Openstack, Kubernetes, Vmware, SDN solutions, ..)
Automation / programming experience (E.g. python, go, ansible, terraform, .. )
