Planning and Engineering Specialist (Content Design)

Summary

The Continuous Improvement team is a part of the Central Planning & Engineering department. We offer you the opportunity to become a member of cross European team working together to deliver world class experience to our customers by supporting FedEx Operations in achieving goals and ensuring profitable growth.

As a P&E Specialist (Content Design) you will be responsible for designing and building new courses and educational materials for the European Operations and Field P&E teams, across all levels of the business.

Job Purpose

Acts as a technical expert on content design and specialist subject(s). Supports or leads projects by applying area of expertise, contributing to the achievement of divisional and corporate goals.

Key responsibilities

  • Create new courses and workshops for the European Operations and Field P&E teams, across all levels of the business.
  • Design education materials for an international Operations and Engineering audience. This will include PowerPoints, manuals and performance support materials such as pdfs.
  • Experience in creating e-learning, using Articulate (or Captivate) is preferred. Video editing would be a distinct advantage.

  • Focus on the delivery of diverse types of learning and development initiatives that support the business in achieving a skilled and empowered workforce with the competence to achieve the business goals, including profitability and the Customer Experience.
  • Participates in the design & development of new learning & development solutions for Europe and beyond.
  • Supports continuous improvement by adapting existing materials to improve productivity, compliance and quality.
  • Participates in projects and task-forces by providing local or subject matter expertise, may lead small projects.
  • Participates in the trial and evaluation of solutions, implementing agreed adaptations.
  • Preferred profile

  • 5 Year plus experience in designing education materials
  • e-Learning design experience
  • Video editing experience
  • Degree or professional qualification in education.
  • Leadership / coaching experience is an advantage.
  • Understanding of the operations and attuned to the pressures of a highly competitive environment
  • Experience of managing, complex, multi-country projects
  • Good knowledge of learning and development principles, methodologies and technologies including CBT, with experience of delivering learning & development solutions that support business goals and incorporate quality assurance principles & techniques
  • Professional adult education experience or experience in developing education and / or online content and web based learning
  • Judgement & Decision Making Skills;Influencing & Persuasion Skills;Planning & Organizing Skills;Analytical Skills;Presentation Skills
