This role will have overall responsibility for the tax advisory, tax compliance and related reporting for Worley Group entities in Europe and Africa.
Based in the Hague and reporting to the Global Head of Tax, you would be required to ensure that appropriate tax advice is provided to the business whilst providing oversight to ensure that the tax obligations of the group entities in Europe and Africa are met in a complete, detailed and timely manner.
The key responsibilities of this role include :
Provide support to the business in relation to issues including structuring and review of contracts, direct and indirect taxes, employee taxes, employee movements.
Provide support for the direct and indirect tax compliance process including oversight of tax return preparation and process management, technical review of tax calculations and oversight of tax payments.
Review the tax reporting for all entities in Europe and Africa on a six-monthly basis in accordance with Australian International Financial Reporting Standards.
Act as the key point of contact in respect of reviews by taxation authorities within the region, and manage any disputes with those authorities, with support from external advisors where appropriate.
Monitor developments in tax legislation and administration in the region and take appropriate action in respect of developments that may impact Worley, with support from external advisors where appropriate.
Develop and maintain relationships with external advisers as appropriate.
Support process improvement and change management initiatives in respect of the region’s tax reporting and compliance processes.
Provide support to the Global Head of Tax in respect of cross-border financing and merger and acquisition activity within the region.
Provide support to the Transfer Pricing Director in respect of the development of appropriate transfer pricing documentation and methodologies, including Country by Country reporting matters.
Ensure that the Global Head of Tax is kept appraised of key tax issues within the region.
Assist with ad-hoc tax projects as and when they arise.
As well as working closely with the other members of the tax team the position holder will also work closely with a number of other individuals as part of their role, inlcuding but not limited to :

Experience, Knowledge, Qualifications & Skills
Extensive experience in the corporate tax space, preferably from a Big 4 environment or in a similar regional tax role (or a combination of both);
CPA, CA or equivalent qualification
Ability to manage distinct tasks in conjunction with on-going responsibilities whilst demonstrating good time management and organisation skills;
Ability to be hands-on where needed and manage detailed work & produce results efficiently and effectively;
Ability to question the status-quo, proactively identify core issues impacting regional tax obligations and seek solutions, eg.
systems and processes issues and continuous improvements;
Knowledge of accounting concepts applicable within a large multinational.
Strong interpersonal and presentation skills with the ability to engage and influence people.
Demonstrates enthusiasm, efficiency, persistence and tenacity and sets out to achieve stretch goals.
