SUMMARY OF ROLE
The Tactical - Strategic Buyer is responsible for ordering and purchasing products and services for Plant Breda in a cost effective and timely manner.
The Tactical Strategic Buyer is also responsible for managing supplier relations and maintaining up-to-date purchasing and supplier information of the specific area of responsibility.
Tactical level :
Placing orders according to MRP requisitions using the defined panel suppliers at the prices determined by Strategic Sourcing.
Keep pricing and lead-times as per strategic agreements / update into ERP’s.
Validate supplier LT is consistent with Master Purchasing Agreement. Follow up of delivery dates and expediting of components in case of late deliveries.
Manage Engineering Change Notification (ECN) implementation.
Manage day-to-day issue resolution and / or expedition of components with suppliers.
Manage daily logistics and transportation, updating delivery dates in line with supplier acknowledgements.
Generation and consolidation of scheduling agreements (order forecast) and Kanban / consignment stock agreements.
Monitor stock levels and inventory and management of restocking levels.
Manage work orders in line with Material Availability and Supplier Capacity.
Strategic level :
Manage supply relationship management with suppliers, quality / cost / delivery performance management and scorecard aggregation.
Advisory role in supplier Selection process.
Negotiate and implement Master Purchasing Agreements with commercial terms, conditions, pricing, and service requirements (lead-time, capacity, etc.
NDA, tooling agreements etc.
Local point of contact to Regional / Global Category Managers / Engineering / Platforms.
Address systemic supplier issues raised by Plant purchasing, engineering, or manufacturing. Definition of improvement plans.
Create RFQ for new parts / designs.
Support material cost analysis (quotes) for large customer projects and project execution.
Supply base project management for major projects (critical client, low margin, short lead time).
Initiate / participate in supplier and process improvement meetings.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
HBO / thinking and working level with a technical background. Additional training in Purchasing.
Excellent communication skills in English and Dutch.
Excellent negotiation skills and relationship management.
3-5 years relevant work experience.
