Supervisor Operations Chemicals

At our location, at Waalhaven in Rotterdam, we work in a number of teams (with positive and pleasant colleagues) for international key accounts.

We organise the transport (import and export) of chemical raw materials, using sea freight and road transport.

For our Chemicals team, we are looking for a Supervisor Operations Chemicals. You are active in improving our internal processes and systems.

In addition, you are team-oriented and can focus on mutual cooperation during the periodic meetings with colleagues and customers.

It goes without saying that you are a cooperating member of the team and are therefore also active with the organisation of various transports and you are the point of contact in case of possible problems.

As Supervisor Operations Chemicals, you work together with colleagues at different levels within DSV and you are always result-oriented.

Besides your direct colleagues you will communicate proactively with customers and transporters. You provide the customers with various reports, and you work critically on the complaints and incidents investigation.

You do this with the necessary amount of humour and fun. Because fun is at the heart of all your work in Rotterdam.

In summary, these are your tasks;

Daily management and support of your team;

Act as point of contact in case of escalations / disputes;

Drafting supplier assessments and discussing these in periodic meetings;

Delivering excellent customer service;

Preparing customer reports and KPIs which you discuss with your operations manager;

Daily activities with the organisation of transports and completing files.

What do we ask?

We also consider the following points important for the position :

Senior secondary vocational education (MBO) level complemented by work experience in a similar position;

Minimum of 5 years' experience in a position as a freight forwarder with experience of sea freight;

Knowledge / experience of chemical transport is a big plus;

Good command of Dutch and English in word and writing;

Positive, motivating to others and team oriented
