General Purpose

As a Senior Digital Art Director at adidas you are accountable for a wide range of digital concepts and solutions. You will be leading digital creative projects from concept to completion - following the global brand direction, style guides and tone of voice policies for adidas.

You will work with the creative team - including copywriters, designers and producers - as well as all strategic stakeholders.

Additionally, you manage a team of designers within Studio A to create industry leading concepts.

You will be the lead art director within Lab A, an in-house cross-disciplinary innovation studio exploring new technologies and experiences within the digital space for adidas.

Your primary work will be in future focused projects and prototyping, pushing the boundaries of possibility within adidas.

You will be developing new approaches to content creation and consumer experiences by partnering with colleagues throughout the business on topics that bridge multiple disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

Scope : Accountable for delivery of a wide range of creative digital concepts and solutions

  • Digital Creative Concepts and Solutions
  • Lead the delivery of design and art direction for digital innovation topics.
  • Contribute to the design and art direction for digital campaigns and creative concepts.
  • Lead the creation of creative digital concepts from ideation to final execution.
  • Collaborate with digital creative experts, freelancers and agencies ensuring efficient delivery of digital creative assets and augmenting internal competencies with external input within your scope of responsibility.
  • Creative Standards
  • Drive the creation of digital-first design guidelines and ensure implementation through templates and toolkits, enabling global consistency and raising the quality of execution.
  • Follow creative reviews and ensure the brand is represented consistently across all design and visual content deliverables within your scope of responsibility.
  • Drive continuous improvements and elevation of digital design and art direction deliverables within your scope of responsibility.
  • Keep up to date with trends in digital technologies and digital design practices and train the team.
  • Contribute to the digital creative community by sharing and incorporating best practices.
  • Creative Consultation & Collaboration
  • Consult major stakeholders on digital design and provide examples of innovative solutions for new digital creative concepts.
  • Present your designs and concepts to major stakeholders and support your work with a clear rational and recommendations.
  • Challenge stakeholders and business owners to ensure optimized solutions for consumer, business and the brand.

  • Understand business needs and collaborate with the Consumer Engagement, .com, digital key briefers and partners and Marketing teams to create effective digital design solutions.
  • Requirements

  • Education & Experience
  • Degree with focus on Design and related areas
  • 8+ years of experience as a Digital Art Director, Interactive and / or Visual Designer
  • Experience working with brands developing creative solutions on a global level
  • Experience in design industry and ability to predict future trends
  • Experience developing successful concepts and working in collaborative multi-functional teams
  • 3 years of experience in leading a team
  • Soft-Skills
  • Very good communication & negotiation skills, comfortable presenting complex topics to stakeholders at various organizational levels both in person and remotely
  • Capacity to establish mid and long term plans, drive execution and analyze results
  • Consistency across designs while maintaining a creative approach
  • Creative and energetic team player who has a passion for creative design & copywriting
  • Strong ability to develop influential and collaborative relationships with the Group
  • Affinity with the Brand Marketing content delivery needs, solutions and processes
  • Good people management skills are required
  • Excellent ability to iterate and evolve and explore design solutions
  • A strong interest in cutting-edge digital technology especially in experience design
  • Hard-Skills
  • In-depth knowledge of art direction and concept development.
  • In-depth knowledge of photography and videography techniques.
  • In-depth knowledge of Digital / Mobile Marketing
  • In-depth knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite incl After Effects
  • In-depth knowledge of content creation processes in-camera, CGI, animation, digital experience builds etc
  • Ability to blend knowledge between different disciplines to create new experiences.
  • Fluent English skills both verbally and written
