About the Role
The Director of Publicis Media Product & Awards role is a highly valued member of the Publicis Media Communications and Brand Marketing team.
Focused on driving growth and enhancing reputation, this team serves as a proactive communications engine for Publicis Media and its leading U.
S. media brands (Starcom, Zenith, Spark Foundry). A key element of the team’s focus is elevating Publicis Media’s reputation as an agency network committed to product innovation, creativity and excellence.
Working in collaboration with Publicis Media’s executive leadership, growth and communications teams, this individual will lead this important pillar of Publicis Media’s marketing communications strategy.
This role reports to Publicis Media’s Corporate Communications organization, with day-to-day connectivity to the Publicis Media executive team and Brand Marketing team as well the growth / business development team.
In collaboration with Publicis Media’s executive leadership, set agency product / awards agenda and goals in the US; plan should focus on inspiring creativity and innovation throughout organization and promoting key capabilities and growth drivers (data, technology, commerce, content and beyond).
Lead external awards participation strategy across Publicis Media and brands; ensure organization is putting most compelling work forward and driving toward shortlist and medal recognition.
Lead internal education, alignment building, training and inspiration sessions so Publicis Media is continually and proactively cultivating a culture of product excellence.
Shape and lead Publicis Media Product Council, helping to enable and advance the delivery of great work throughout U.S.
Serve as key product expert and hands-on counselor to Publicis Media’s brands; participate in brand-level product review / product councils, advise on best work to prioritize for award shows, provide counsel / direction on award entries and other activities, as necessary.
Proactively manage Publicis Media’s relationships with major award shows (e.g., Cannes, Festival of Media, Effies, WARC, Jay Chiat, etc.
including : Ensuring Publicis Media and its agencies are kept abreast of latest award program developmentsPositioning Publicis Media and brand executives for jury placementsSurfacing other visibility / thought leadership opportunities associated with the award program (e.
g., speaking opportunities, social media visibility, etc.)Ensuring Publicis Media and its agency brands are appropriately credited for all work
Cultivate and methodically track pipeline of Publicis Media’s latest / best work to fuel new business, marketing and communications efforts
Work collaboratively with communications team to create internal communications and engagement programs to celebrate great work, recognize teams and share best practices.
Collaborate with product leader counterparts at Publicis Groupe and Publicis Communications to advance Publicis Media’s product agenda
Work with communications team’s Associate to oversee tracking of all program deadlines as well as PM award show performance
8-10 years of related award and or marketing experience, with previous experience in advertising / media agency setting strongly preferred
Experience working in a complex, matrixed organization
Knowledge and familiarity with leading advertising / marketing award programs (e.g., Effies, Cannes Festival of Creativity, Festival of Media Global, etc.)
Strong instincts and understanding of what makes an award-worthy piece of work
Natural storyteller who can advise brands on how to shape award entries (written cases, case videos) in a compelling way to standout to judges
Strong executive presence with ability to advocate and make strong business case for awards strategy, while also cultivating culture of product excellence
Versatile leader with ability to deliver both strategy and hands-on execution
Organized with impeccable attention to detail
