We have an opportunity for an intern to join our NVM technology team in Nijmegen. Technology & Operations plays an essential role in NXP’s success by ensuring the timely delivery of high quality, scalable, cost-competitive technologies to create a competitive advantage for our customers.
Characterization and modeling of next generation non-volatile memory (NVM) technologies on dedicated test chips.Silicon validation of new leading-edge memory designs.
Development of software tools to enable this characterization / validation.Interfacing with foundries and other external suppliers of technology or intellectual property (IP) to assess reliability margins for product applications, with varying use profiles.
Based on the acquired understanding, provide input for qualification requirements for new NVM technologies and / or products using these.
Fanning out knowledge to product groups to enable a smooth switch-over to next-generation NVM.Support product and business groups with customer requests for technical information, including reliability characterization results, risks assessments, and consultation on issues.
WHO ARE WE ?
Within T&O, the NVM technology team ensures that NXP's product teams have access to state-of-the-art embedded Non-Volatile Memory technologies such as Flash, but other memory types are under study, too.
The NVM technology team is located in Asia, Europe and the United State and counts appr. 45 people, of which appr. 15 are located in Nijmegen, working a.
o. on NVM reliability aspects, NVM silicon technology, NVM device physics, NVM characterization. The intention is to hire the intern as a full time employee after the internship if the performance is good.
You are a master's or PhD in Applied Physics or Electrical Engineering, Physics or equivalent backgroundsA strong background in statistics with knowledge of solid-state device fundamentalsAffinity with programmingBasic knowledge of memory test techniques, micro-controller operation, or NVM designMust be curious, proactive, and detail-orientedProven teamwork, communication, reporting, and problem-solving skills are essential for this role
Basic knowledge of emerging non-volatile memory technologies, such as MRAM and RRAM, and of silicon CMOS technologyFamiliarity with microcontroller software development (C / C++), as well as data processing and analysis (e.g. Python, JMP, Exensio)
The duration of the internship will be a minimum of six months. You will work for 40 hours a week.
