We are looking for a Lean Implementation Specialist to join our team in Enschede .

In this role, you will join our L&D Warehouse / Distribution Center in Enschede which is a part of the Johnson Controls’ Logistics & Distribution Organisation within EMEA.

You will execute the implementation of Lean Manufacturing goals and strategies for improving the operations and processes within our organization.

You will be responsible for leading the continuous improvement vision and projects to drive significant improvement in EH&S, quality, customer service and operations cost throughout the EMEA Logistics & Distribution network.

What will you do

As the site Lean Implementation Specialist, you will :

  • Work with and in the daily operation to drive Best in-Class performance in People, Quality, Material Flow and Cost.
  • Work with the Johnson Controls Manufacturing System (JCMS) Champions and be a Champion for some disciplines to successfully implement JCMS .
  • Be the primary point of contact for reporting of site improvement activities.
  • Identify and complete six sigma & lean projects, lead kaizen events, continuous improvement workshops, 5S workshops and support HPT development in line with plant commitment.
  • Maintain rolling plan of kaizen / 5S workshops and tracking actions.
  • Be responsible for maintaining future state map , project hopper with improvement actions to reach goal.
  • How you will do it

  • Conduct Value Stream analysis (current and Future State Value Stream Mapping).
  • Supporting and developing the CCC-PCC-BCC tiered structure approach for daily management implementation.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the Continuous Improvement (CI) tool is correctly updated with project progress with minimum monthly status updates for accurate savings forecasting.
  • Reviewing all project documentation and savings templates.

  • Co-ordinate with financial controllers to verify savings proposals and completed project validation.
  • Prepare bi-weekly CI Savings report . Report progress to plan, including recovery actions to support target.
  • Maintain CI Training plan and progress towards six sigma / lean certification.
  • Run and support Kaizens / 5S workshops, track progress against plan.
  • Collaborate with the CDC manager and Continuous Improvement Manager to assess the current state of the facility’s Operations and to develop future state vision and implementation plan.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop a Continuous Improvement Roadmap, bridging business metrics gaps with either : a) Just Do It improvements, b) Six Sigma projects, or c) Lean Implementation projects.
  • What we look for

  • Hands on mentality; work actively with the operation .
  • Degree
  • Certification in Six Sigma, Lean and Problem Solving is preferred.
  • Experience with leading and applying lean Manufacturing Six-Sigma and Change Management principles.
  • Knowledge of Lean Principles (Kaizen, 5S, Waste Elimination, Work Balancing, Material Flow, Quick Changeover, TPM, DFM, Ergonomics, Kanban, Value Stream Flow, Total Quality, Visual Factory, etc.)
  • Excellent communication and partnering skills.
  • Process management skills , including prioritization skills, drive for results, and managing vision and purpose.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and gain consensus and support as well as identify, plan and successfully implement operational and organisational change across the organization.
  • Ability to manage multiple distribution center project teams.

  • Advanced Dutch and English language skills, verbal and written.
