The Staff Protection Services Specialist is considered a crucial role in the front line defense of Booking.com in the protection of their people, customers, partners and assets.
The Global Corporate Security team falls within the wider Global Security and Resilience team, a dynamic, lean team requiring hands-on support in day to day safety and security operations.
The role is broad and involves strong operational, tactical and interpersonal skills. The program lead of Staff Protective Services will interface with employees and support staff across multiple teams within and outside of Booking.

The Staff Protection Services Specialist will be an experienced lead who excels at working with diverse teams and has a passion for security, problem-solving and team building.
The candidate will work as part of the Global Corporate Security team and be supporting the management, on training and support of the overall security program and specialized projects and requests.
This is a cross-functional role that partners closely with internal and external cross-functional partners. This role requires an individual that can lead the Executive Protection and Event Security capability in a dynamic environment and possess the physical, operational and tactical capabilities to address wide-ranging (executive) protection related tasks.
you drive operational and tactical decisions related to the Group Security services roadmap and optimize the team products, processes and approach.
Strategic planning and operational ownership of a comprehensive Staff protection services operations program with a core focus on Executive protection and Events Security.
Overall accountable for the Protection Services program and 3yr strategy.
Serve as a liaison to executives and stakeholders for all matters regarding high-risk / visibility travel or events. Develop relationships with domestic and international law enforcement and government counterparts, as well as private sector peers worldwide to help facilitate travel and event security.
Experience analyzing intelligence and threat reports to determine the risk level to a location, event or a person to scope resources appropriately.
Take ownership of event security for large events while closely collaborating with Booking event teams and workplace services to ensure events are organised in a safe and secure way wherever it’s organized.
Prepare executive (residential) risk assessments, communications, briefings, training sessions and reports that fit the company risk profile and appetite.
Develop and oversee the global guarding standard and work with workplace services globally on sourcing and managing guarding vendors.
Ability to create, plan and review Executive Protections Operational documents and implement guarding SOPs.
Leading and demonstrating excellent team-ability (collaboration, communication, cooperation, etc.) in a cross-functional work environment.
Work with the program manager, Travel Risk Management, on protecting our travelling employees.
Gathering and assessing information (sometimes under stress) while exercising sound judgement, logic and sound reasoning in the decision-making process, and escalating issues appropriately.
Interacting with all levels of corporate management, internally and externally with a multitude of other departments and personnel.
Traveling (domestically and internationally) in support of protective operations
Be an effective Change Specialist, leading the company through periods of change, displaying motivating and encouraging behaviors.
Work with the wider Global Security and Resilience team on the internal Covid response efforts
Work together with the Booking Security Awareness team to bring the policies live in an effective and fun manner.
3-5 years experience managing protection services efforts and critical operations where 24 / 7 availability is required.
Strong track record within the domain of (close) executive protection, residential security (assessments), (ad-hoc) guarding services, (large) events security control measures, crowd control, incident response and operational / logistical planning.
Ability to work with external vendors under tight deadlines.
Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills, plus the ability to perform under pressure.
Ability to work with C-Suite
Outstanding written and verbal communications skills; ability to effectively advise at all levels of the organization;
Independent self-starter; detail oriented, organized, and ability to multitask.
Sound business judgment, with ability to anticipate firm needs and identify and implementpractical, realistic solutions
Highly responsive, service oriented individual with ability to flex schedule to support customers in various locations and time zones
Ability to manage confidential and highly sensitive information with the highest levels ofdiscretion and professionalism
High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail with the right level of interpersonal and analytical skills.
Good Google Suite, (especially Google slides / Excel).
Familiarity in implementing Building Assessment & Risk Management Tooling (Resolver)
CPP and / or PSP, or other Corporate Security professional certification is a pre.
Must be available to respond to incidents outside normal working hours 24 / 7 - 365
