What will you undertake?

The job :

The study programme "International Business" is looking for a an experienced communication lecturer who enjoys supporting young professionals from different nationalities in developing their communication skills.

Within the IB programme we offer our students an authentic learning environment using a project based learning approach.

Therefore as a member of the IB team you have different roles such as coach, lecturer, guide, facilitator, supervisor, etc.

You should feel comfortable switching between those roles in order to facilitate our students with the best learning environment possible.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and inspiring team member that has proven International Business Communication experience and that is willing to support the students in the different challenges they face when it comes to communication.

A team that is open to innovation, very committed to the programme and dedicated to the students, but also with strong individual opinions.

Your tasks will include facilitating students during their learning process, namely but not exclusively :

Teaching students in communication related courses;

Coaching students in their semester projects;

Supporting students in their personal and professional development as a study career coach;

Supervising students during their work placement and graduation assignment;

Supervising groups of students during their mini companies;

Contributing to the development of the curriculum IB (International Business).

Depending on your expertise and interest, other (FIBS wide) tasks (e.g. in different committees) are possible.

What do we ask from you?

We are looking for a motivated, self-driven lecturer who possesses the following qualifications :

Master degree in Communication related area;

Relevant industry experience in international contexts;

Preferably teaching and / or coaching experience in communication;

Proof of didactical and coaching skills;

Fluent in English (C2 level) as the language of instruction is English;

Preferably fluent in one additional language (e.g. Dutch or German).

Besides you should be able to bring in the following :

Interest and belief in student centred education;

Intercultural skills;

Open mindedness;

Ability and drive to collaborate;

Ability to adapt to a fast changing environment;

Willingness to innovate in education;

Drive to improve yourself and the environment around you;

Constructive attitude towards sharing knowledge;

Interest in blended learning techniques.

The work environment

Fontys International Business School is a fast growing institute for business with bachelor and master courses in 4 programmes : International Finance and Control, Marketing Management, International Business and Logistics Management - International Fresh Business.

At this moment FIBS has 2500 students (4000 on the total campus). FIBS is an organization where people from different countries are educated to become high-class bachelors, training them by using study programmes that offer good prospects to the Dutch and foreign job market.

At the same time it is a community where students from various countries work with each other and learn from each other in international and euregional classrooms.
