In this way, you ensure great customer satisfaction and you help our organization to grow further. As a permanent point of contact for the key accounts in your portfolio, you know what is going on with your customers and you can respond accordingly.

With existing customers, you look for opportunities to expand our services. You are also active when it comes to recruiting new customers.

You and your 8 colleague Key Account Managers are commercially responsible for a mix of national and international strategic clients.

As a Key Account Manager, you offer the services of our business units Sea Logistics, Road Logistics and Air Logistics. You therefore have regular contact with colleagues in these business units in order to be able to offer the best to the customer - and prospects together.

You report to the General Sales and Marketing Manager.

The focus of your work is on maintaining a good relationship with your customers from an advisory role. You regularly consult with them, demonstrating that you empathize with and are involved in their business.

As a result, you also see opportunities for up- and cross-selling. In addition, if there is ever something that does not go quite as it should, you take the lead to ensure that it is resolved.

In addition to your existing customers, you are also responsible for business development. You can always rely on your colleagues in the Netherlands or abroad, because many of our customers are active internationally.

You know what is going on in the market, what our competitors are doing and what the developments are.

Specifically, you have the following tasks and responsibilities :

  • answering RFIs and RFQs and coordinating the input of the various internal and external disciplines. Think of operations of the various business units, legal, insurance, IT, customs;
  • actively identify, evaluate, follow up and convert Targeted Accounts to Key Accounts;
  • taking care of the entire sales process and tender processes, in the latter case you work together with our Tender Center;
  • informing existing and potential customers about our services through presentations and sales conversations. Now this still happens a lot digitally, but as soon as this is possible, again you will do this on location;
  • answering customer questions.
  • Understanding your customer’s business and challenges and then coming up with the right service or solutions that really helps them, which brings true value to their supply chain and their business overall.

    In this commercial position, you have to deal with all kinds of stakeholders : the customer comes first, but also with your colleagues from the various business units and disciplines involved.

    It is therefore important that you are communicative and relational strong and have good networking skills. You are also a good discussion partner for your customer.

    Business development processes can be lengthy, and your tenacious nature comes in handy.

    Job requirements are further :

  • completed HBO education in a commercial, economic or supply chain direction;
  • at least five years of recent and relevant work experience at a logistics service provider, where commercial or operational experience within Overland, Air and / or Sea Logistics is an advantage;
  • knowledge of international forwarding and supply chain management, including 3pl and understanding of 4pl;
  • experience with extensive negotiation processes;
  • good command of the Dutch and English language in word and writing.
