will include providing privacy legal advice, facilitating privacy and data protection compliance and working closely with colleagues in various functions to analyze and respond to privacy-related regulatory developments, issues and questions.

You will be part of our Global Compliance Function, reporting directly to the Head of Compliance.

You are accountable for :

  • Providing trusted legal advice in the area of privacy law, including : contract drafting and negotiation; advising product development, supply chain, IT, HR and marketing or other comms initiatives;
  • evaluation of data processing activities; supporting incident management; and due diligence for business development activities

  • Serving as the second line of defense within our Global Privacy Program in close collaboration with the Privacy team and other stakeholders across HERE
  • Serving as a key subject matter expert and advisor to other HERE lawyers and business colleagues on data privacy issues
  • Close collaboration with legal and privacy colleagues to continuously improve our Global Privacy Program and to work on compliance and risk mitigation projects / programs to respond to regulatory developments in markets where we operate
  • Monitoring changes in global legal and regulatory requirements and ensuring that necessary changes are being implemented in HERE s Global Privacy Program to ensure continued compliance in a constantly evolving regulatory landscape
  • Training legal colleagues to help them advise their clients on data privacy issues, as well as develop and maintain guidelines, playbooks, templates, and other resources
  • Helping design products, services and technologies for compliance with applicable privacy laws and regulations
  • Advising on new and emerging legal and regulatory developments in the area of data privacy, including identifying trends and potential impacts on our current or future business activities
  • Liaising with regulatory authorities, outside counsel and other external privacy stakeholders and advisors as required
  • Who are you?

  • You are a fully qualified lawyer and are admitted to the bar
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience practicing privacy either in-house and / or at a reputable law firm
  • Demonstrable hands-on experience providing day-to-day legal advice and counsel on various privacy related issues, including deep knowledge and experience with privacy laws globally, including GDPR, CCPA, CPRA and current privacy regulatory and enforcement developments in Europe and other jurisdictions
  • Executive presence and strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. You must be able to prepare presentations and to present to diverse audiences, including C-level executives
  • You have leadership and expert communication skills to influence, advocate for and drive change and compliance across a global company.
  • You are able to help non-experts understand applicable regulations and requirements, and to translate legal advice into actionable policies, processes and technical implementations that enable business objectives

  • Ability to effectively collaborate cross-functionally, juggle conflicting demands and prioritize deadlines
  • You have exceptional writing skills, with attention to detail and ability to generate creative and precise drafting and documents
  • You are an enthusiastic collaborator with a can-do-attitude, who displays risk-based and pragmatic legal and business judgment in providing practical advice to clients on privacy and data protection issues
  • Passion for data driven business models, technical understanding, strong business acumen and practical approach to problem solving is required
  • Experience in a fast-paced technology environment preferred
  • Relevant certifications, such as a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) or other relevant technical certifications preferred
