Purpose of the position

The manager Customs & Trade Compliance Management International markets East is responsible for the organization of Customs & Trade Compliance in Israel, Russia / CIS and APAC region.

The position is part of the department Global Customs Compliance and Processes team, which is a subsection of the Global Logistics organization.

Overall objective is maintaining a compliant, fast and smooth Import / Export flow of the finished products, API and raw materials across the entire region.

You will provide governance for all Logistics Service Providers in the region who provide Customs brokerage services to Teva.

Key topics are Russia AEO implementation as well as the implementation of a simplified customs brokerage network throughout the region.

You will be responsible to manage and standardize Teva’s daily customs and compliance from origin to final customer. Besides topics like HS classifications, valuation and origin, FTA’s, sanctions, audits and others will fall under the responsibility of this role.

Within this position you report to the Sr. Director Global Customs, Compliance & Processes and work closely external and internal stakeholders including the transportation team, Global Compliance, Tax, Quality, Logistics Service Providers and Customs authorities.

International travel is about 15%.

General Duties and Responsibilities

Supports Sr. Dir Global Customs, Compliance & Processes and regional teams in development and implementation of regional goals and objectives.

Keep regular contact with Customs officials and responsible for ensuring the relationship with Customs;

Coordination & responsible for handling of customs documentation, monthly customs declarations, customs debts and possible financial risks (KPI reporting);

Implementation of AEO regime in Russia

Simplification of customs broker network in International markets East

Develop and implement customs broker audit program

Ensures staff are trained, technically competent and well informed of changes in service

requirements and regulations;

Collaborate with Transport team, Warehousing & Distribution team, finance and tax on (duties / tax) optimization projects;

Collaborate with tax and quality to ensure full import and export compliance

Advise all sites / markets / finance on regular basis about relevant changes in relevant laws, including updates about taxes and duties.

Qualifications and Skills

Qualifications

Education Required : Bachelor’s Degree with a major or concentration in Business Administration, Finance or Supply Chain

Experience Required : 5-7 years work experience within customs & duties role

Preferable experience in the international markets

Language requirements : Proficiency with spoken and written English

Travel Requirements International : 15%

Excellent understanding of customs regulations and the ability to convert into practical processes.

Customer and result orientated mindset

Able to work in a fast pasted, changing environment

Able to work with tight and strict deadlines

Strong Interpersonal / Relationship Management (communication and influencing) skills
