The GTT Sales Engineer exists to partner with sales to drive revenue growth for GTT. We accomplish this by identifying customer requirements, establishing technical credibility, defining, designing and proposing world class solutions.
As the technical expert on the opportunity, we will gather required technical information, manage special requests and hand off an approved order for client delivery.
The Sales Engineer will be an integrated part of the sales team and will provide pre / post-sales technical support to target channels and customers, and function as a technical escalation liaison for channels, customers, and working team members in the Sales Team.
Provide expert consulting, design, proposal generation, and engineering of the GTT portfolio. Work with customers to answer technical questions surrounding customer requirements to specify solution components to install GTT services.
Present GTT’s technical capabilities and service benefits including demos to prospective customers Work cross functionally with Sales, Product Management, Engineering, Service Delivery and Service Management to understand and document customer needs and solutions Develop detailed required solution design documentation used by Service Delivery or any other part of the organization Ensure Customer Expectations are set accordingly through the order lifecycle Work with Sales Teams around technical and product training Sales Engineer may participate as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and provide additional support to Sales, Partners, and Customers Carry out other responsibilities as needed and assigned Travel to Partner or Customer sites when required Job Requirements : Team Player and willingness to be a leader Build relationships with customers, sales reps and partners Customer service oriented Ensure Sales exceeds Quota Know your sales team’s numbers Strong understanding of telecom infrastructure, DWDM and Ethernet connectivity Strong understanding of TCP / IP, network design, Layer-
2 connectivity, Internet, MPLS, SDWAN and secure IP networking requirements including IPSec, GRE, SSL and VPN technologies Strong understanding of CPE options offered within GTT portfolio Strong understanding of Networking security is a plus Strong understanding of SIP and UC is a plus Ability to hit deadlines and work in a fast paced environment Lead discussion or training for large groups of audience members both internal and external customer and partners Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills Strong analytical skill and attention to detail Ability to work independently on numerous activities and prioritize them properly while meeting deadlines.
Ability to work in a constantly changing environment Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Visio Typically requires a Master or Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience or training.
Responsibilities : Support GTT Sales Organizations in capturing new business and up-selling existing customers. Provide customers with a high level of technical expertise in designing solutions.

Work cross functionally with Sales, Product Management, Engineering, and Service Delivery to understand customer needs and to develop a proposal for solutions.
Provide technology consulting for the design of IP-based networks, including Voice, Data, and Security applications. Develop detailed solution design documentation used by the Engineering and Service Delivery.
Provide Pre-Sales and Implementation support for sales opportunities and customer projects.
