PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Operations Manager is an important senior leader within OTT HydroMet and a key member of the global operations leadership team.
This person leads a team of talented professionals in planning, production and shipping to drive the long-term commercial success for a portfolio of new and existing products.
The Operations Manager is directly reporting to the VP Global Operations.
In addition to leading highly talented associates, the successful Operations Manager will develop and lead the implementation of plans to meet customer demands, deliver existing and new products on-time with the desired quality and achieve revenue targets.
This position is also expected to assume responsibility for cross-functional company and / or cross-operational initiatives and meetings.
Provide leadership and drive cross-functional alignment to deliver company objectives, including but not limited to :
Build and develop a highly-engaged, high-performing, growth-oriented organization
Ensure the team is doing the right things (focusing on the critical few) and doing things right (leveraging Danaher Business System (DBS) and best demonstrated practices)
Motivate associates to perform at their highest levels
Leading a team of 20 persons and responsible for setting objectives and addressing employee performance and corrective action plans;
employee motivation and rewards
Interacts with the cross functional team members including procurement, quality, sales, engineering and finance to demonstrate new and higher standards for well-executed new product introductions and tactics to drive growth for existing products
Effectively coach teams to drive growth at various stages of business maturity & product maturity. Deliver on product sustainment / improvement (quality, compliance, maintenance funnel, part obsolescence, product hierarchy / reporting) and product obsolescence where appropriate
Manage overall planning, production, shipment and is responsible for the effective and successful management of labor, productivity, quality control and safety measures as established and set for the Operations Department
Analyze process workflow, employee and space requirements and equipment layout by applying DBS
As a member of the environmental health and safety team the operations manager maintains a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following and enforcing standards and procedures;
complying with legal regulations implement changes
As a member of the operation team (quality, purchasing, operations) the operations manager develops operation systems by determining product handling and storage requirements;
develop, implement, enforce and evaluate policies and procedures; develop processes for receiving product, equipment utilization, inventory management and shipping
Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company's policies and applicable laws
Ad-hoc data analysis and reporting when needed by management
Operations responsibilities met or exceeded, as tracked and measured by the set KPIs
Daily Management of KPIs (EHS, First-Pass Yield, OTD, Inventory and Productivity), implementation of lean manufacturing concepts and good cross-functional problem-solving skills
Drive execution of temporary countermeasures to problems even before root cause is determined to maintain customer satisfaction
Education, Background and Skill Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required
5+ years of professional level in operations (will consider Engineering, Supply Chain or similar)
Must have high level of agility, excellent decision making and problem-solving skills, and demonstrated abilities to solve problems
Significant experience with lean manufacturing concepts as well as with KPI measurement and analytics
Understands the complexity of business needs and decision drivers within an organization. Must be able to consider available facts, constraints, competitive circumstances, probable consequences and distill these into actionable recommendations
