of Technical Department Manager Display Software

Your team

In this software leadership role, you will coach the display software team, in total around 15 highly educated (Bachelor, Master, PhD) software designers.

Your team is creates and improves the real time rendering and video distribution technology for our minimal invasive systems.

As the coach of this team you understand software development well, specifically high performance real time C++ code and design including advanced rendering frameworks like DirectX or OpenGL.

We look for strong technical leaders that want apply their soft skills in a medical device context to help grow their people!

You are a part of the management team of the Imaging Chain Cluster (ICC) of the Business Innovation Unit (BiU) IGT Systems within Philips.

This BiU is responsible for marketing, development and manufacturing of X-ray systems in the area of cardiac and vascular medical diagnosis and intervention (e.

g. balloon angioplasty and stent procedures).

Customers are intervention specialists, in the cardiology and radiology domain operating in hospitals across the globe.

Your responsibilities

As a technical Department leader, you are responsible for the talent management, way of working and output the team. You lead and coach the teams within the allocated budget, on time and with the highest level of quality.

The work is based on a product and technology roadmap, covering studies, new product introductions, product maintenance activities and advanced field support.

Key areas of responsibility :

  • Coach of a software department of approximately 15 engineers located in Best
  • Defines group composition including required competencies, resources and skills
  • Ensures successful introduction and sustaining of high quality, manufacturable, serviceable, and reliable products
  • Drives the technology roadmaps for the team
  • Defines and implements process improvement activities
  • Builds relationships with suppliers and customers, and colleagues like Innovation, Operations, Customer Services, Procurement and Marketing
  • We are looking for

    To succeed in this role, we seek the following skills and experience :

  • Master degree or better in software engineering
  • Several years of experience in People management or Project Management
  • Experience in a medical regulated environment, testing, and quality assurance is a plus
  • Knowledge and experience of international standards (e.g. FDA regulatory, IEC 62304, IEC60601, ISO13485, ISO14971)
  • Abstract, analytical and creative thinker with helicopter view. You drive (out-of-the-box) solutions to complex problems
  • Excellent social skills, Is communicative, a good listener, and is able to give good presentations to different levels in the organization
  • Has an improvement attitude, is a leader by leading through example
  • Interpersonal talent and ready to take responsibility
  • Communicative in all layers of the organization, orally and in writing
  • Fluent in English, written and verbal
