To support the rapid growth and international expansion of our organization we are looking for a Card Scheme Compliance Officer, with in-depth knowledge of Card Scheme rules and regulations.

What you’ll do

The principal responsibility of the Card Scheme Compliance Officer is to effectively ensure that’s policies and procedures comply with the relevant card schemes.

As Card Scheme Compliance Officer you play a crucial role in describing and enforcing policies, helping merchants avoid scheme violations, reduce fraud, prevent money laundering or other financial crimes.

Apart from that, your responsibilities are :

  • Being up-to-date on the card scheme compliance rules (Mastercard, Visa);
  • Build and manage a scheme compliance program;
  • Develop and oversee control systems to prevent or deal with violations of the card schemes’ rules;
  • Evaluate the efficiency of controls and improve them continuously;
  • Collaborate with various departments to implement and monitor enforcement of card schemes’ rules as updated from time to time;
  • Perform periodic card scheme compliance risk assessments;
  • Lead employee training sessions on issues relating to the card schemes;
  • Assess the company’s future ventures to identify possible card scheme compliance risks;
  • Keep abreast of regulatory developments in relation to the relevant card schemes;
  • Prepare card scheme compliance reports, as requested by the card schemes;
  • Managing notifications and non-compliance assessments received by the card schemes;
  • Foreseeing implementation of requirements that arise from the card schemes from time to time; and
  • Acting as a contact point with the card schemes as required.

    As a Card Scheme Compliance Officer you are part of the Finance & Control team. You will work together with experienced Compliance and Risk experts.

    What you offer

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Business Administration, Finance, Law or related field;
  • A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience working as a (Card Scheme) Compliance Officer or similar position, within a credit card acquirer (bank or Payment Service Provider) environment;
  • Expert knowledge of the payments industry standards / processes and regulations, including the payment card scheme regulations and rules and PCI DSS;
  • Experience in communicating with the card schemes (Mastercard and Visa);
  • Excellent knowledge of reporting procedures and record keeping;
  • Familiar with AML / CFT;
  • Excellent analytical skills, critical and tenacious;
  • Strong investigative skills, ability to review customer data with emphasis on risk evaluation;
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills;
  • Energetic, proactive and a hands-on approach; and
  • Excellent communication skills, in English; understanding of Dutch is strongly preferred.
