As an Internal Communications Lead at, you will be a part of a team of talented internal communications professionals and be responsible for owning the department's communication cadence and creating engaging strategic narratives and campaigns for its diverse base of commercial, service and product development employees.


  • Communication Strategy and Planning Partner with leadership to develop & deliver internal communication strategies that enable strategic alignment and employee engagement across a departmentOwn the implementation of the internal communication calendar within a departmental / regional scope and internal communication plans for the wider businessEnsure all strategies / plans incorporate adherence to ethical, legal and brand requirementsNetwork and build relationships with senior departmental leaders to identify communication needs and contribute to the development of departmental / regional strategy
  • Advising, Educating and Influencing Develop internal relationships and alliances with other functions to ensure alignment of strategy and deliveryProvide feedback, challenge and coaching regarding leadership communication style to department VPAdvocate and lead thinking on the impact of effective internal communication on department performanceAct as a trusted advisor to the VP and department LT, being a sounding board and providing advice, coaching and constructively challenging as appropriate
  • Creating and Curating Content Articulate the corporate narrative, adapting as necessary for different audiencesDeliver innovative and creative communication campaignsEnsure compliance with content standardsDevelop department strategies committed to employee voice and knowledge sharingDistill complex issues / ideas into simple, honest and compelling communicationCoach key stakeholders in effective content creation and opportunities
  • Channel and Community Management Develop overall channel strategy for multi-directional communicationMonitor and measure departmental channels against global standardsDevelop and introduce new channels in line with strategy, working with other disciplines as appropriateDevelop ideas to encourage conversation and connection across Booking.
  • comMonitor channels for compliance with content standardsHosting and facilitating business and leadership eventsCoach leaders and ensure healthy participation in internal social media and communication events / forums

  • Understanding and Advocating for People and Culture Analyze data from internal social media, feedback and employee voice initiatives to inform understanding of employee perspectives and opinions and feed into communication and business planningSegment employee groups based on understanding of needs / subcultures and ensure communication plans and channels are appropriate
  • Active Listening and Measuring Impact Oversee departmental internal communication measurement and evaluationWork with colleagues to design feedback gathering initiativesDraw meaningful insights from analysis of dataUse data and insights from research and measurement to influence VP and department LT
  • B.Skilled

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 5+ years experience working in complex global internal communication programs in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Demonstrable experience creating and delivering communication strategies
  • Able to run communication planning at a strategic / program level.
  • Strong project management skills, ability to run multiple projects concurrently and prioritize effectively
  • Ability to influence and build effective relationships with senior stakeholders, and use those relationships to enable the best possible outcome for and employees.
  • Ability to coach leaders and line managers to be effective communicators
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with Journalistic skills : interviewing, writing, copy editing, proofreading.
  • Ability to distill complex issues / ideas into simple, honest and compelling communication; avoiding jargon and matching language to the needs of colleagues.
  • Able to deliver succinct talking points and superb written communications for leaders.
  • Strong facilitation skills : face to face and online.
  • Demonstrable success working with social media and community management.
  • Understanding of organisational culture : which channels will work most effectively in different environments and why.
  • Awareness of user trends in technology / opportunities.
  • Vendor / supplier management skills.
  • Detailed understanding of the needs and experiences of the diverse Booking community.
  • Detailed knowledge on the use of inclusive language and able to adapt writing style or channel mix to meet the needs of the diverse Booking community, making sure everyone feels a sense of belonging.
  • Detailed understanding of channel monitoring, campaign evaluation, qualitative / quantitative feedback and survey analysis.
  • Ability to work within an agreed budget
