Amongst other things, DSM Nederland NV is responsible for the ownership of the Chemelot campus and DSM’s industrial parks & buildings in the Netherlands.

The department of the Chemelot / Industrial Park & Buildings (IP&B)) consists of four sub-units : Housing & Facilities, Industrial Park Lease Management, Soil & Spatial Planning and Real Estate management

To make sure that the Real estate management activities in this department are continued and further developed, we are looking for a :

The challenge

The key challenges for you will be to manage the function for Real Estate Asset & Facility Management for DSM owned / leased real estate in The Netherlands at market competitive terms.

But even more important to demonstrate the value add for DSM of the newly centrally steered set-up for a Center of Expertise for Real Estate and Facility Management.

You will support all internal stakeholders involved by providing expert support for real estate management, by creating sustainable long-

term value for the DSM assets (land, buildings, infrastructure)

The position

  • To manage DSM NL buildings and infrastructure at the Industrial park, the Chemelot Campus and off site in a professional and market competitive manner adhering to DSM requirements and LTO.
  • To provide a safe, functional and professional Real Estate infrastructure adhering to DSM requirements and LTO at competitive terms for DSM employees and DSM service providers for the real estate owned by DNL.
  • To develop and manage Real Estate and Facility Management covering all DSM offices and laboratories owned or leased by DSM for its employees in The Netherlands with focus on utilization efficiency (cross Business Groups), DSM requirements, LTO and maintenance.
  • To consistently proof the value of the Centre of Expertise for Real Estate and Facility Management in terms of knowledge and synergies.
  • To be able to scale up the Centre of Expertise for Real Estate and Facility Management to a larger region (Europe or global) if required.
  • To manage a number of strategic processes / projects for IP&B (e.g. Site Development Plan, extension Campus to the North, Mobility Studies Chemelot).
  • Develop, maintain and monitor real estate (maintenance) policy, structure, systems and processes.
  • Develop long term (10 year) maintenance plans and concepts for the Chemelot and DNL buildings including activities, budgets and time frames.
  • Initiate improvement of maintenance plans of assets on Brightlands Chemelot Campus and challenge Brightlands Chemelot Campus on maintenance policies.
  • The Ideal

  • At least 10 years of experience in real estate and facility management in a corporate set-up.
  • Academic / Master degree.
  • Broad experienced in real estate management and project management in complex environments.
  • Experienced in sourcing, contract and supplier management.
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and Dutch language.
  • Able to connect with different stakeholders.
  • Good listener and able to convince stakeholders.
  • Result-oriented.
  • A strong set of communication styles.
  • Collaboration is a core quality, as well as the ability to quickly switch between (the interests of) different parties in a politically complex environment.
  • Can combine analytical skills with creativity and problem-solving skills.
  • Think innovative and customizable and have vision for the development of the relevant disciplines.
