The Team

Fitting within the wider Marketing and Communications group, Global Communications drives strategies and executions to enhance brand and business reputation, maximize brand exposure through earned and organic channels, deliver global alignment of consumer-facing communications channels, and lead all associate facing communications and engagement tactics.

Fitting within this group, The Global Social Media team is responsible for developing social media content across channels globally, from concept to publication.

The team articulate the editorial concept and respective content strategy for every channel to support brand objectives through the generation of creative storytelling and impactful narratives that drive engagement, inspire consideration and create desirability.

The team seeks to enhance brand reputation, deepen consumer awareness of key attributes / activations / Hero Products, attract new consumers within our target groups, and trial innovative new storytelling techniques.

The Position

The Manager, Social Media Art Director is a forward-thinker who is an expert in social media and experiential storytelling, with proven ability to use emerging technology to create disruptive and exciting creative.

This role will focus on developing strong, concept driven creative assets for social platforms, creating cohesive and immersive virtual platform storytelling, and push innovation to define future metaverse landscapes experiences via emerging platforms like Roblox.

You must be a multi-faceted creative with in-depth experience in photo art direction, a deep knowledge of existing social platforms, and proven ability to apply innovative and emerging technology to immersive storytelling.

The role requires a highly creative individual with extremely strong executional skills. He / she must be pro-active, flexible, driven, and be a team player who embodies the TH passion and positive attitude.

They will articulate the editorial concept and respective content strategy for every channel to support brand objectives through the generation of creative storytelling and impactful narratives that drive engagement, inspire consideration and create desirability.

You will partner closely with the Creative Department and Brand Marketing team, divisions and other Communications team to ensure alignment with the global communications strategy and industry best practices.

Building strong relationships within the team, stakeholders across the business, external vendors and production partners.

This role reports into the Vice President, Global Brand Marketing & Communications.

Key Responsibilities :

Oversight of all social creative assets released, ensuring that creative solutions meet Tommy Hilfiger creative and brand standards, support strategic brand priorities, and key business needs.

Content creation across social channels and emerging virtual platforms, ensuring accurate visual expression of campaign launch strategy and brand representation : concept, photo art direction, pre- and post-production of still and moving assets, on-model and product, motion graphics, animation, moving typographic treatments, etc.

Organic Social Media Art Direction

Define Storytelling Narrative / Editorial Concept / Content Strategy

Participates in the execution of the entire creative process within time frame and budget

Articulate the editorial concept and content strategy for every channel

Content curation and creation for social media

Provide briefing and coordination of social media messages to ensure seamless visual / verbal narratives with Copy team (Marketing Copywriter and Senior Editor)

Partner with regional teams / agencies to develop effective localized plans and ensure global coordination.

Curate selection of content for TH social media platforms

Social Media Creative Production :

Development and / or briefing to third party collaborators i.e. illustrators or artists or agencies for ad hoc social media content

Partner with Creative Services for the production / project management

Ideation of social media-first initiatives and brand moments to drive further digital content creation and storytelling opportunities

Curation of music for specific organic social media creatives

Budget management for social media content creation

Define Visual Direction and Oversee Aesthetic Composition :

Publication order of imagery / gifs / videos matching editorial messaging with aesthetic principles based on :

color palette

balance of content (product, lifestyle, corporate etc)

type and source (still, on body, campaign, editorial, mood etc)

Oversee quality of assets for social media posts including : cropping, graphic overlap, color correction, resolution optimization

Paid Social Media Art Direction :

Creation of creative assets for all paid social media platforms, including local social platforms : cropping, video editing, animating, aligning with branding guidelines (logos, wordings, call-to-action)

Selection of relevant creatives for paid campaigns, in accordance with the campaign’s objectives, business and branding goals

Curation of music for specific paid media creatives

Influencer Campaign Art Direction :

Define creative concept for influencer campaigns

Create moodboard for visual reference for influencer campaigns

Provide feedback on influencer campaigns content deliverables

The Ideal Candidate :

BFA or higher in design or related field, with focus preferably in Digital Design.

6+ years related overall experience with 3+ years of that experience at an Art Director level at a creative agency or in-house at a leading relevant brand (beauty / fashion).

A strong multi-disciplinary background in art direction, motion & animation, social platforms, game design, interaction and experiential design combined.

Fluent in existing and emerging social and virtual platforms and immersive media products with the ability to execute using new technologies.

Strong vision, skills, and comprehensive understanding of integrated storytelling.

Fashion experience a plus; appreciation and passion of luxury / prestige industry; strong sense of visual style photography, design, typography, graphics, etc.

Ability to ideate strong concepts grounded in clear branding, marketing strategy, and business rationale, with demonstrated ability to implement and execute omnichannel.

Strategic, big-picture thinker with ability to produce highly conceptual work

Demonstrates the skills to present creative concepts, find common-ground solutions, manage expectations, and execute ideas as aligned upon with cross-functional partners.

Equally comfortable and able to provide effective oversight or be hands-on and execute projects independently.

Consistently deliver high-quality work on time and with attention to detail.
