Purpose of the Role
The Head of Pricing is in charge of developing and improving smart pricing frameworks based on which local Operating Company pricing structures can be deployed and evolved towards better and more harmonized pricing models.
He / she is a thought leader and an expert on pricing knowledge of relevant models, business, and strategies making existing businesses more profitable.
He is jointly responsible to deliver the OpCo’s Strategic pricing target on margin improvement.
As the Head of Pricing, you will :
The Head of Pricing will build a Community of Excellence for Pricing across the Group, a platform where local pricing leaders and experts meet, collaborate and learn from each other.
He / she will be part of the Commercial Excellence Team for BME.
Main objective is the creation of a pricing structure, which helps to reduce the need for manual adjustments, as employees and customers have full confidence in prices charged.
This will have a positive impact on efficiency, facilitate digital transformation and will result in more predictable and higher margins.
Main stakeholders are :
Business Process Owners and Group and OpCo Functional Leads (mainly : Commercial Excellence, Procurement / Category Management, Supply Chain, Finance, IT);
Commercial leaders and sales teams in the Operating Companies;
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Work closely with the Director Accounting & Reporting and Analyst on the following :
Gather and analyze best practices from the various OpCo’s;
Use inputs from various OpCo’s to design a scalable pricing framework which serves as a basis for local models;
Create and lead a pricing community of excellence;
Examine, improve or redesign the existing pricing processes in close cooperation with local Experts;
Identify and introduce smart and innovative new pricing and rebate models;
Build a pricing dashboard to control and compare models for impact on margin improvement;
Be the linking pin between OpCo’s and central team on all pricing topics;
Communicate within and across OpCo’s (all levels);
Coach local teams and experts to increase their impact and level of success;
Monitor and report on progress within OpCo’s and centrally;
Review, challenge, propose improvement plan on governance.

Education and Experience
Master’s degree in Economics, Mathematics or similar
Minimum of five years performance regarding pricing systems and / or data analysis :
Minimum of seven years of business experience in one or more of the following : Pricing Management, Revenue Management, Strategy, Commercial Management, or Trading and Business Development (wholesale and B2B advantageous) :
Thorough understanding of the building materials trade / market is advantageous :
Fluent in English and German is a must, preferably one other European language like Dutch or French.
