Digital Architect IC
In this role, you have the opportunity to lead the digital activities in the IC design activities in Philips Research for various businesses
Our challenge is to
At Philips Research in the group Microsystems and Devices, a team is working on the design of various mixed-signal application-
specific ICs (ASICs) for biomedical applications. These ASICs usually perform sensor interfacing functions. You will take part in the design of such ASICs.
These ASICs are used to develop solutions for MRI, ultrasound but also for external customers. They can be used for genetic analysis (for example determining DNA).
You are responsible for
Leading the digital activities in the IC design roadmap in Philips Research for various businesses;
Develop the digital and mixed signal system architecture including simulation, test and verification solutions aligned with the mixed signal / analogue teams;
Determining the required interfaces and digital and mixed signal challenges in close consultation with the Architecture team and subject matter experts;
Performing technology assessments to enhance and / or support new systems and helps to develop roadmaps together with the Architect team;
Owner of the Requirements and Designs for multiple projects / products, leading and driving a team to a shared solution;
Managing and documenting the architecture for the digital flow in various projects;
Develop application understanding and optimization of solutions to application needs;
Develop new opportunities and IP;
Contributing to the department process improvement activities.
You are a part of
A team of 15 highly skilled colleagues who collaborate to design various ASICs for biomedical applications.
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
University Degree in Electrical Engineering;
At least five years of experience in digital system design, circuit design and implementation;
Experience in IC realization of DSP algorithms and functions for sensor interfacing applications, including digital filters, sample rate converters and communication protocols;
Able to improve existing solutions. A solid understanding of the digital and mixed-signal ASIC design flows, from system architecture to vhdl, verification, DfT and physical implementation;
Experience with mixed-signal design and verification using AMS is a plus. Basic knowledge of Virtuoso and analog design is beneficial;
Capabilities to act as the technical lead of a team of digital designers;
Working experience in a multidisciplinary team with analog and mixed-signal;
Fluent in English.
