The position As a Compensation & Benefits (C&B) Specialist, you will be part of the HR department, consisting of 60 HR employees with different specialties.

The C&B sub-department consists of 6 C&B Specialists, each with their own specialism and focus area. To expand the C&B sub-department we are looking for a colleague with several years of relevant work experience who has a broad interest, is naturally curious and enjoys investigating matters and advising and formulating policy based on this.

C&B is responsible for the national and international terms of employment for all Van Oord employees. And that means a diversity of laws and regulations, (foreign) entities, payrolls, but also many employees with different nationalities and countries where our employees work.

The C&B Specialists have to take all these aspects into account when drawing up and amending, but also when advising on employee benefits and international mobility.

A dynamic environment and several subjects where our C&B specialists gets in touch with a lot of stakeholders within the organization.

The vacant position arises because, within our HR strategy 2025, we want to further professionalize and upgrade our international HR landscape and infrastructure.

Specifically, as an independent C&B Specialist, you will work on various national and international projects in the areas of compensation, benefits, staffing and mobility.

And you will provide support to our various (foreign) project and tender teams. In that context, you are the point of contact and sparring partner in the field of (local) legislation.

Depending on your affinity and background, this role offers the opportunity to delve deeper into all aspects of Compensation & Benefits and to support the company in its ambitions to deploy its employees in an even more flexible and international way.

Your responsibilities

  • Together with your C&B colleagues you modernise and further develop (inter)national employment condition at Van Oord;
  • Advising management and HR colleagues on the tax and social security aspects of cross-border employment;
  • Implement changes in terms of employment policy as a result of changing legislation and regulations;
  • Implement employment conditions benchmarks, analyse the results and advise based on the results;
  • Advising management and HR colleagues on national and international employment conditions;
  • Alignment of specific aspects, such as immigration, insurance and taxes, with external cooperation partners.
  • Job requirements

    You have an analytical and pragmatic attitude and you know how to tackle problems. You are also accurate, enthusiastic and able to work independently. Furthermore you have :

  • At lease a bachelor degree in the direction of Business Administration, HR or Law;
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience within C&B;
  • Good command of the English language, orally and in writing;
  • Excellent communication skills.
