We are currently recruiting for a Sales Manager (proactive) to join us here at The Hoxton, Amsterdam.

You’ll be working with our Head of Sales in Amsterdam in delivering on the hotel’s budget. It’s a great opportunity for someone who’s ready to take ownership of proactive sales, bring their ideas to the table and make a direct impact on our performance.

We’re not really a strict job descriptions kind of place, we all get involved where needed but here’s a bit more detail on what we see you doing :

Main Responsibilities

  • Generate leads for meeting & events and private dining from predominately the local corporate market but also from the travel trade locally and internationally
  • Take responsibility for driving groups and corporate room nights
  • Work with our head of sales to develop and put in place an annual sales plan to source, drive and grow each business segment
  • Own a pre-assigned portfolio of accounts, taking the lead on rate negotiations and account management activities whilst ensuring we maximise our market share
  • Drive new business prospecting activities across the corporate and MICE segment - research and identify opportunities for new MICE and corporate business in line with our budget
  • Stay on top of the local marketplace and the competition to make sure we stay at least relevant and ideally ahead of the curve
  • Cross sell all Hoxton properties globally, where it works, to maximise revenue opportunities across all segments
  • We want you if

  • You’ve got at least 1 years’ experience within a proactive sales environment in Amsterdam
  • A little black book of Corporate Travel Managers, Agents, bookers and TMCs that we can tap into would be ideal
  • You’re passionate about hotel sales and are ambitious about your own career
  • Laser-sharp attention to detail; you take pride in the quality of your work
  • Keen to take ownership and work proactively; you don’t have to be told what to do but want to take a lead role as part of a small team
  • You’re looking to be part of a dynamic, fast-paced environment where success often relies on being able to flex and change
  • You’re a wiz at the Microsoft office suite; if you’ve used Opera, Lanyon and other RFP tools before that would be an advantage
  • You want to be part of a team that works hard, supports each other and above all has fun with it along the way
