We are seeking a talented HVAC Lead Engineers with experience in leading large-scale projects (TIC of EUR 100m up) in the downstream refinery and chemical / petrochemical markets.

Extensive FEED and EPC & EPCm experience are desirable.Primary Job ResponsibilitiesThe role of Lead Engineer is a key Leadership role, being responsible for the day to day supervision and coordination of the HVAC Mechanical Engineering and Design team.
He / she will be also acting as (lead) engineer assigned to project(s).Part of this role would be global integrated delivery coordination which is mostly executed with the Jacobs offices in Mumbai, India.
The supervisor / Lead Engineer reports functionally to the Department Manager and operationally to one or more Project Managers.
The work activities on projects consists of making HVAC designs independently or as part of a project team with main focus on initial HVAC calculations, prepare Basis of Design, relevant flowsheets, 3D model input for layouts, cost calculations as basis for preparation of the technical parts for contractor scope of work and construction follow-
up. We expect candidate will have a strong technical background in an engineering contracting environment with all aspects of HVAC design and engineering.
The understanding of the technical requirements of the project and directing others to apply this into the project is crucial.
Key Responsibilities / Skills :
Provide leadership and be able to manage small team as supervisor for all HVAC activities. This in executing projects, supervising team and developments, this in personal development as well tools / systems.
As (lead) engineer be responsible for the proper and timely execution of projects ensuring the Department quality management system and any project specific contractual requirements are met It is essential that the engineer has recent experience of the design of specialized buildings and a solid track record within HVAC design.
Responsible for issue of all mechanical deliverable documents. Ensures effective communications among other engineering disciplines, project management and Client teams.
Defines the discipline scope of work and the required resources,
Participates in daily scrum meetings, project status meetings and is responsible for correct reporting of amongst other project status, progress, delays, change notices, performance measurement, lessons learned and close-out
Assumes responsibility for cost, schedule, material quantity and budget control.
Ensures effective management of change.
Takes personal responsibility for safety and a healthy environment on the projects, and demonstrating this by example
Is able to contribute in development and growth of people ().
Is able to produce proposals for projects which involve man hour- and schedule estimates related to the mechanical scope of work
Should be able to add value plus / optimization ideas.
Undertake developmental activities like preparation of work instructions / procedures / guidelines
Liaise with other departments to ensure that all HVAC interfaces are integrated in design , room sizing, construction details, Structural and Civil content within the model are up to date.
Computer literacy essential, familiarity with design software preferred. : VABI, HAP, HevaComp
Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with proven leadership experience in Refinery and Petrochemical markets.
The successful candidate must be a driven professional with strong commercial & business acumen, solid understanding of Project Controls (planning, scheduling, man-
hour estimates and measuring physical progress) and has the potential to lead & inspire teams
Has solid HVAC engineering and design experience in the Oil & Gas industry (10+ years)
Should have good understanding of requirements of other departments and interfaces in engineering
Has good knowledge of international codes and standards
Has proven experience with Dutch and European regulations
Has already been responsible for (midsize) teams
Multi-office project execution experience is a pre
Experience and affinity with Project controls; Scheduling and progressing
Should have experience in lead role for FEED and Detail Engineering projects with exposure to field engineering activities.
Ability to organize and set priorities
Ability to communicate and present effectively
Ability to report in in English, both verbal & in writing. Mastering Dutch and / or German is an advantage.
Flexible for business travelling
Would also have responsibility of ensuring that Dept. / Disciplines quality management system is followed taking into account any special contractual requirements
