Identifying and implementing opportunities to optimize the use of data within our R&D, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Marketing and Sales, Finance, HR and Sourcing Functions have been services delivered from our MDM Global over the last few years.

The demand for data support has recently increased from supporting processes / Functions like Real Estate, IM, Insurance, reporting & analytics and Legal & Integrity for instance.

This demands the skills of someone who can dedicate his full attention to the specific needs of these process / Functions.

Someone who can prepare compelling cases for investment in data improvements that will enable smooth operations and accurate data for reporting that leads to the timely generation of new business insights.

This is why the GBS Master Data Services require a new Global Data Architect (GDA) role for the Supporting Processes and Data Quality Monitoring, next to the existing four Global Data Architects dedicated to StP, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, MSSS, PtR and A2G.

This new GDA will allow growing the overall Data Management maturity in those Global Functions.

Key objectives include defining the data roadmap together with the GPO / GPDL / GPA of the supporting processes. This role will be acting as IM / IT touchpoint for master data matter including setting up the MDM landscape strategy and driving the demand pipeline for changes and projects support.

One of the key responsibility for this role will also be to drive the MDM reporting & analytics capabilities (demand / supply and portfolio management) for the Global MDM Dashboard, developed on an Alteryx / SQL / PowerBI platform.

Key responsibilities

  • Setting up the Data Strategy and Data Roadmap with the Supporting Processes GPO teams and subsequently driving their delivery
  • Defining data standards, cleansing (Get Clean) and monitoring (Dashboard / KPIs) of the data quality
  • The implementation of controlled, governed, and harmonized data maintenance processes for supporting processes data domains, including the impact of these changes.
  • Overseeing the development and maintenance of a Data Dictionary / Glossary for the supporting processes data domains
  • Acting as IM / IT touchpoint for master data matter including setting up the MDM landscape strategy and driving the demand pipeline for changes and projects support
  • Coordinating activities done by the MDM CoE team for the Data reports and dashboards
  • Working together with stakeholders on new dashboard requirements and implementing them
  • Continued focus on standardization and optimisation of data reports and dashboards.
  • Steering on the implementation of the agreed projects, programs
  • Ability to utilize metrics to identify opportunities for service improvement
  • What do you bring?

  • Post-Graduation in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, IT or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 10 years’ overall experience with 5 years’ experience in MDM related function
  • Experience in Project Management, with supporting certification preferred
  • Experience of interfacing with stakeholders at all levels in multinational corporations, including C-level;
  • Advanced interpersonal and cultural skills including fluent English, with any other important language(s) an advantage.
  • Experience in MDM application systems as key user (preferably SAP and SAP MDG)
  • Experience in complex IT system environments as key user
  • Experience in building reports / dashboards using D&A tools (Alteryx, SQL, PowerBI)
  • Experience in complex business environments with multiple stakeholders, including service providers for both IT as organizational / process capabilities
  • Understanding of external factors influencing master data management such as competitors, regulatory requirements, best in class practices, etc.
  • Leverages business understanding and its requirements to run MDM operations with the right level of controls in place
  • Keeps deadlines and produces high quality output
  • Fosters a constructive dialogue with support functions and key stakeholders
