What will you do
as an Electrical Architect - Batteries?
You will become part of Lightyear’s Electrical Architecting team and the High Volume Series will be your first project. We will deliver Lightyear cars in high volume around 2024-2025 and are currently working on converting our stakeholder needs into vehicle requirements.
From the vehicle requirements system architects are responsible for the system breakdown. Together with your fellow electrical architects you will be responsible for making the electrical architectures at various levels in the system breakdown : the electrical part of the complete vehicle breakdown for the new Lightyear car.
In the role of Electrical Architect - Batteries you will be responsible for the electrical architectures of the energy storage systems.
In the group of electrical architects you will be the expert on battery cells, BMSses and possibly other energy storage systems.
Your focus will be on optimizing the systems for energy efficiency of the complete solution. In setting up the architecture you will have a keen eye on the nonfunctional requirements as well : cost, manufacturability, power usages, maintainability, serviceability, etc.
When the requirements are in place, you will also be responsible for the correct implementation of all requirements according to regulations and common sense.
You will join the design reviews and evaluate the test strategy and test cases. You will track design change requests and analyze their impact on the batteries and related electrical system.
While the new prototype car is integrated and tested you will monitor its characteristics and performance. You will drive corrective measures if the system is out of spec.
