As an Engineer Connectivity you will initiate, lead and execute technical product development in order to ensure that Liberty Global will be able to benefit from the latest innovations and advances in technology, both technically and commercially and will be able to maintain leadership in the field of provisioned broadband access services.
You will ingest product and architecture requirements and translate these into technical requirements and user stories for our external software development teams to execute.
You will work to get alignment from other stakeholders on new features : Product, GDO, Testing, Security, Service Deployment and In-Life.
You will reduce technical debt whenever you see it and provide guidance to external development teams on the requirements and user stories you request to implement.
Define technical requirements / user stories and success criteria for technical development of product features
Be an SME on the features and user stories that you define
Keep close communication and alignment with peer engineering teams within the Connectivity group and with upstream and downstream stakeholders (product, operations)
Use strong technical insight and understanding of product and operational aspects to advise product
Work in a partnership model with the vendors to achieve a lasting healthy and co-dependent working relationship
Work with the Testing team to define new test cases for new features
Preferred education / qualifications :
BSc or Masters in Telecommunications or similar field
Knowledge & Experience :
Minimum 3 years technical experience in service provider environments
Minimum 2 years of experience with embedded software lifecycle
Working knowledge of IPv6, DOCSIS, SIP VoIP, GPON, SNMP, TR069 and Wi-Fi technology
Experience managing and configuring bootfiles
Experience in an agile development and deployment environment is a plus.
