Summary

The Senior Staff Software Engineer will lead the development of software for medical devices for hearing tests / assessments.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop new software solutions while improving and maintaining existing software
  • Decipher and solve technical challenges with a highly talented (international) team
  • Manage the hearing assessment software roadmap and execute on the deadlines
  • Oversee development planning and team
  • Maintain in-depth technical knowledge, application requirements and technology trends
  • Full administration related to the job (oversee project management)
  • Work closely together with company leaders, the business and development team
  • Education & Experience

  • At least 10 years of relevant experience is required, preferably start-up experience
  • Experience with health care and / or audio applications is a huge plus, but not mandatory
  • Familiarity with regulatory and privacy related topics is a plus (such as Medical Device Directive, AVG / HIPAA, Quality Assurance, ISO norms, et cetera)
  • Experience with big data sets and / or machine learning is a plus
  • Minimum education :
  • Completed Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree at university OR
  • HBO / university of applied sciences in informatics / mathematics or a relevant technical topic
  • Minimum 5 years of Experience with managing development projects and / or a development team
  • Experience with C# (.NET / .NET Core) is crucial
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure, Javascript, JQuery, HTML and SQL is preferred, AWS experience is a plus
  • Skills & Personality

  • Excellent oral, written and technical communication skills
  • Ability to bridge the (language) gap between the business and the developers
  • Must be fluent in English (both written and spoken)
  • Being fluent in Dutch (both written and spoken) is a plus
  • Proven analytical problem-solving skills
  • Ability to discuss product roadmap, product and development to the team and clients
  • Ability to be responsible and accountable for development roadmap execution
  • Must be a team player and motivational towards team members
  • High flexibility and go-getter
  • Naturally calm and patient
  • Have high energy and passion towards building highly innovative technology
  • Great interpersonal skills are required to work efficiently and effectively with co-workers and outside customers
  • Be able to use reason and logic to identify solutions
  • Preferably living in the BeNeLux, or willing to spend substantial amount of time in the beautiful and vibrant university city of Maastricht
