Under limited direction, you use your extensive knowledge and skills obtained through education and experience to apply the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework and policy across Aegon Asset Management.

You are responsible for complex risk assignments that are broad in nature requiring originality and ingenuity. Your contact with (executive) management is required to collaborate with the business and broader risk function in identifying, researching, analysing and resolving key risk issues and events across the organization.

You lead in oversight of the Financial Risk Management element of the ERM framework, and support in the wider delivery of, and education on, the ERM framework across Aegon AM.

In this role, you will collaborate with key internal stakeholders to make a real difference to the risk profile of Aegon AM.

You will lead in both the analysis and understanding of crystalized events, and recognized material risks; and the development and delivery of effective mitigation plans, that will improve the long- term risk profile of the business.

You will work with the key stakeholders in your portfolio to ensure the policies and procedures of the Aegon are appropriately applied in day to day activities.

You will be supportive of the Aegon AM Global Head of ERM and wider CR&CO in the achievement of joint objectives.

Your key responsibilities

  • act as ERM partner in all interaction with your business portfolio, with responsibility for 2nd line oversight to ensure compliance with ERM framework and policies including Financial Risk Management requirements;
  • act as a central escalation for NL legal entity risk matters, sharing with the broader ERM team for appropriate intervention.

  • From time to time support the local risk team, in preparing or presenting risk updates to the Board and / or our Clients using AAM tooling and methods;
  • responsible ERM lead in the investigation of material risk events and / or issues impacting Aegon AM originating from within your portfolio, ensuring root causes are understood and appropriate mitigation plans are agreed and implemented;
  • support comprehensive challenge of the risk facilitated RCSA program in the areas of the business you oversee;
  • work to drive consistent articulation of risk, across the global organization and drive appropriate risk responses with the support of 1st line management;
  • collaborate with compliance, to develop and maintain integration of our compliance and risk frameworks;
  • take a key role in the maintenance of ERM Framework and policy documentation, including training and education of Risk and Business colleagues;
  • perform other adhoc duties as required by the Global Head of ERM.

    This is your future position, because you :

  • have in-depth understanding of operational risk management practices and methodologies, including risk identification and assessment, solid understanding of internal controls and risk mitigation concepts;
  • have a proven track record of delivering operational risk management within a relevant industry;
  • have excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • have the agility to work in a fast paced and changing environment;
  • have the ability to present and interact confidently with stakeholders at all levels across the organization;
  • have a University degree level or equivalent;
  • possess the relevant professional qualifications;
  • have, as we operate in a global environment, a willingness to travel from time to time

    Job and compensation levels depend upon an applicant’s qualifications including the extent of his / her relevant experience and different job related factors and will be determined by hiring supervisors / managers and HR.
