Your role in the team
As Data Engineering Capability Lead, you are responsible for delivering premium-grade data engineering components which will enable our (functional) data engineers to build robust pipelines with speed and agility.
Being a capability lead implies your responsibility to take data engineering / -management to the next level, not just through application of technology and process best practices in the solutions that you design and deliver, but also in acting as a practice leader to guide and support engineers both in the global team, as well as in decentralized teams.
You are expected to create and facilitate a global engineering community to ensure that we maximize our ability to unlock potential across the company.
Besides new component delivery, you will also regularly review, test and help ensure qualities of those developed by your team mates.
You explore new solutions, execute root-cause-analysis for production data or CI / CD pipeline breakdowns.
Your challenges
Your eagerness to get yourself started is key. There will be no one to tell you how to do your job or which solutions to follow.
You should be keen to drive your initiative and ideas, you go ahead educating the business what to do with their data puzzles.
You take the lead of external consultants’ delivery. You should feel the responsibility of quality (even if it’s not built by yourself).
You will be challenged constantly in seeking the balance between assuring an Always On " production landscape , whilst driving innovation with a fail-fast attitude.
