As scaling expert you will challenge the business model of ING Lab initiatives and help them creating and executing the best scaling strategy, guiding them in their journey from potential opportunities into profitable businesses

    YOUR ROLE

    Innovation being at the core of ING's Think Forward Strategy and a critical enabler to its success, the role of the Scaling expert is to ensure that the initiatives exiting ING Labs have a sound scaling strategy that will lead to impactful businesses.

    You will challenge their business model, organisational structure, growth plans, team set up and skills and help them discovery blind spots.

    Ultimately you will help convert a small internal startup into a standalone profitable business.

    Responsibilities

    Coach ING Lab initiatives in the scaling phase. This includes, but is not limited to :

    Challenge and improve business models of ING Labs initiative after the first pilot

    Evaluate pilots results and help teams define improvement areas

    Help teams create and identify growth strategy

    Challenge and help set up commercial pipeline

    Benchmark scaling plan with industry standards

    Advise growth team on tactics, tooling and content

    Be the go-to sparring partner for Initiative Leads on defining the commercial go-to-market strategy in order to secure funding for scaling

    Help teams Identify commercial strategy (product-market combination, key differentiators and revenue model)

    Pro-actively support the initiative leads with building the financial models and pitch decks in preparation of budget requests

    Advice ING Labs on best scaling scenario : proactively help initiatives and ING Labs identifying best scaling scenario (scale within the businesses, as new business unit or as separate entity)

  • Understanding pro and cons of different scenario and advice ING Labs of best choice depending of initiative characteristic
  • Help ING Labs management to understand potential implication on scaling decision
  • ABOUT YOU

    We are looking for an enthusiastic, international, results-driven professional who exceeds people’s expectations and will help ensure we disrupt our core or pursue beyond banking opportunities through building impactful new scale ups.

    You can show a positive track record in business development and in growing new companies

    Check your profile :

  • Background in scale ups, VC, private equity or consulting firm
  • Track record in growing companies or businesses from start up / pilot phase into profitable businesses, both in B2B and B2C
  • Deep understanding of business modelling and financials
  • Experience with setting up growing strategies either in corporate or scale ups
  • Understanding of basic financial accounting and corporate policies
  • Outstanding entrepreneurial skills within a blue-chip environment
  • Results oriented and driven to make a real impact, always putting customer needs and motivations at the core
  • Excellent analytical, fact driven and conceptual thinker
  • Able to take helicopter view and see the bigger picture
  • Creative and experimental spirit, embraces failure to succeed
  • Proven ability to influence executive stakeholders creating buy-in and engagement;
  • Ability to succeed in a fast paced environment without existing organizational structures or processes
