The Quality Engineering Lead position serves as a lead for a specific teamof Quality Engineers.In addition toleading other quality engineers, the position will be responsible for workingdirectly with acore agile team to develop automated tests scripts and provide general QAsupport.

The individual will providedirection on best practice and work with other quality engineering leads toprovide a cohesive methodology for quality engineering within the Scopus product.

  • BS Engineering / Computer Science or equivalent experience required.
  • Experience with Java and automated testing tools / technologies.
  • Experience working in agile development methodologies.
  • Responsibilities

  • Lead small teams in the development and execution of automated andperformance testing for large or multiple diverse projects to successfully andconsistently enable delivery of high-
  • quality software products and services ontime, on budget, and to specification, reacting quickly to changes inpriorities or circumstances to meet the needs of the business.

  • Coach team on researching available tools and lead or participate ininitiatives to identify and implement those that will cost-
  • effectively enhancetesting capabilities and product quality.

  • Identify opportunities to apply existing automation or other tools to meettesting needs.
  • Serve as subject matter expert in the configuration, maintenance, and / oradministration of testing tools or environments.
  • Innovate process improvements that enable efficient delivery andmaintenance with consistent direction.
  • Identify areas for cooperation with other teams to improve overall qualityand, with peers or others, implement initiatives improving testing capabilityand efficiency.
  • Configure, maintain, and / or administer testing tools or environments.
  • Plan testing for delivery of products and enhancements and to assureproducts meet product requirements and quality standards, partnering withProduct Management and Development teams.
  • Maintain flexibility to react quickly to changes in priorities orcircumstances to meet the needs of the business.
  • Work with QA / Testing staff, development leads, and subject matter expertsto plan and execute automated tests.
  • Report issues and results, researching and identifying root causes asappropriate, documenting accordingly.
  • Ensure that testing addresses requirements as agreed with otherstakeholders.
  • Research available tools and participate in initiatives to implement thosethat will cost-effectively enhance testing capabilities and product quality.
  • Maintain awareness of the state of the industry and evaluate emergingtrends / developments that may benefit the organization.
  • Conduct project reviews, ensuring review criteria are defined, andimplement procedures for ensuring quality control of project deliverables.
  • Cooperate in the enhancement of the methodologies employed for testplanning and execution, defect tracking, and metric and status reporting.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives and implementation of bestpractices.
  • Maintain framework for record retention in order to support internal andexternal IT audits.
  • Enhance quality assurance / testing and help to develop / execute performanceand automation testing throughout the business as appropriate.
  • Identify areas for improvement and, with leadership, peers, or others,implement initiatives improving overall capability and efficiency.
  • Carry out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization’spolicies, procedures, and applicable laws. Responsibilities includeinterviewing, hiring, and training employees;
  • planning, assigning, anddirecting work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees;and addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • Ensure all staff is provided with training and resources needed to performtheir jobs to the most outstanding degree possible.
  • Ensure all staff isprovided with frequent feedback and coaching in order to meet and exceedindividual and team performance goals consistently.

  • Manage and encourage new ideas from staff to foster improvements throughinnovations.
  • Empower the staff to be accountable and responsible for their own actionsand decisions.

  • Strong understanding of QA methodologies.
  • Experienced QA testing skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong ability to develop and execute automated and performance testing.
  • Basic understand of working with budgets.

  • Strong skills in setting, communicating, implementing, and achievingbusiness objectives and goals through the direct management of others.
  • Strong organization / project planning, time management, and changemanagement skills across multiple functional groups and departments, and strongdelegation skills involving prioritizing and reprioritizing projects andmanaging projects of various size and complexity.
  • Strong problem-solving experience involving leading teams in identifying,researching, and coordinating the resources necessary to effectivelytroubleshoot / diagnose complex project issues;
  • prior successextracting / translating findings into alternatives / solutions; and identifyingrisks / impacts and schedule adjustments to facilitate management decision-making.

  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and customer service skills.Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills applicable to awide audience including senior and executive management, customers, etc.
  • including diction / terminology and presenting information in a concise andeffective manner to clients, management, and various departments using assortedcommunication mediums.
