Technical Support Engineer, Certified Installer network

Tesla, headquartered in Palo Alto, CA, develops high-performance electric vehicles, stationary energy storage systems, and solar energy technology.

The focus is to reduce the environmental impact of transportation and electric energy use by accelerating the adoption of electric vehicle, energy storage, and solar technologies.

Tesla’s stationary storage and solar electricity business unit (Energy Products) is focused on increasing levels of dispatchable renewable electricity generation.

The suite of battery systems developed by Tesla also performs a variety of other high value functions for utilities, businesses, and residential customers.

The role

Do you have an educational background in Electrical and / or Mechanical Engineering? Would you be interested in providing technical support for Tesla’s Energy Products Powerwall and Powerpack?

  • We are looking for a professional to help us deliver exceptional support to our network of Certified Installers in the DACH region;
  • the ideal candidate will have technical acumen and on top of that be extremely service minded. So, if you have a relevant engineer background and driven to exceed customer expectations, this may be the role for you.

    Based in Amsterdam, this position will partner closely with Sales, Operations, and Service teams to proactively improve the owner and installer experience for our rapidly growing customer base.


    Support to installers by troubleshooting and taking care of the necessary follow-up

    Provide technical expertise to Field Service Engineers during site visits

    Remote troubleshooting for commercial sites and come up with strategies for preventive maintenance

    Escalate critical issues when needed

    Evaluate the needs of business customers and work in a creative, pro-active manner to resolve technical issues with the battery systems

    Educate our business customers so they have optimal confidence in the operation of the energy storage system

    Determine if technical solution can be resolved remotely or if field service intervention is needed

    Share customers concerns with NOC Managers, Service Engineering, or Field Service as necessary

  • Accurately record issues and data into CRM database
  • Requirements

    Electrical or Mechanical background related technical experience preferred

    1-2 years of work experience in technical support environment within renewable energy and battery background

    Excellent communication skills in English

    Flexible schedule; this team runs 24 / 7 / 365 globally to accommodate our customer’s needs (shift work may be necessary)

    Experience with CRM systems and MS Office Suite
