You will have a great impact on the scalable, stable and secure future of NN’s IT landscape. You keep the Kubernetes platform stable and you prepare it for growing demands.
This job offers you a salary with a maximum of € 4800 per month.
Your impact as a Kubernetes DevOps Engineer at NN
A year after the start of the NN Kubernetes program, NN is now managing over thirty Kubernetes clusters that are running multiple production workloads, including some of NN's critical customer facing portals.
Although Kubernetes is the main component, it turned out that life cycle management and reliable delivery of changes to live platforms proved to be the most challenging part.
The platform is delivered in a fully automated and secure way and includes all the required integrations with the rest of the NN IT landscape.
The Container Platform Team uses concepts like fan-in / fan-out cluster deployments, platform integration tests, monitoring, alerting and feature flagging to deliver their qualitative and highly scalable platform.
All-in-all there are fifteen components that provide all the platform features and services, so NN had to get creative to make sure that we keep it up to date.
The managed Kubernetes platform is now available on AWS based on EKS, the team is now building a similar service on Azure using AKS.
Once the platform is available on both of NN's public cloud hosting platforms; it is all about continuous improvement, adding additional features to our platform based on the CNCF landscape (like service mesh and serverless containers) and accelerating the adoption of Kubernetes and containerization at the BU DevOps teams.
The latter will include a lot of coaching and technical handson guidance to migrate more of NN's critical workloads to the public cloud.
Are you the engineer who is going to join us throughout this journey?
With your Kubernetes team you are a part of the central Cloud Factory of NN and your direct colleagues will consist of the AWS and Azure platform DevOps Engineers.
